This part. Tomas has a lofty AVG that's likely being propped up by a .400+ BABIP. He's not that good of a hitter, only has 1 HR to his credit, and the only way they tie the game on a hit is a double. If he singles and the run scores, you still have to get past Trumbo who is not a difficult out. Potentially dangerous? Sure. But he's not Paul Goldschmidt. He's more likely to hit that double in that spot than Goldschmidt is to hit a home run. Like people have said, walking Goldschmidt would have been fine, but not walking him is fine as well.
