  1. lol Do you not grasp the notion that seeing fewer strikes than any hitter in baseball might impact a hitter's production? Protection's not a thing.
  2. I'm trying to figure out what their thought process is behind leaving Castro there. It would seem like hitting after Bryant and Rizzo would just make him press even more.
  3. Probably pretty much the same, maybe minus a few walks.
  4. Looks like he stole his wig from Arrested Development.
  5. I pick us I don't think NSBB really has the farm system to keep up.
  6. Great diving stop to grab what looked like a hit to center and then a bullet throw back to Rizzo.
  7. Damn, Rizzo makes a pretty tough scoop look like no problem.
  8. Yeah, he's kind of all over the place. It's not a disastrous season or anything for him, but personally I was really hoping for him to be a monster. I really expected that 162 game projection to be what he already had at this point in the season.
  9. Given the nature of his bad season and how he bounced back the next year it was a pretty safe bet that he'd at least be a 2 WAR player this season. We get it; you've repeatedly made it clear you never thought much of Castro in all those years you didn't follow baseball.
  10. Those bottom two... http://i.giphy.com/UdqUo8xvEcvgA.gif
  11. How long has it been this bad? We complain about the screwups and bad choices of the NFL and the MLB all the time, but this just seems so next-level.
  12. There was little reason to move him in the offseason; he was a player that you could expect to be productive, Baez had just had a disastrous showing and Russell hadn't been up yet. You're not going to jump and move the one guy among them who actually could have been called a sure thing at the time and move him then, because the expectation was you'd likely be able to move him (if so desired) during or after the season and his value would still be high.
  13. I agree; his continued presence the 4-spot is baffling. Not that it's news to anyone here, but among qualifying Cubs hitters, Castro ranks as follows: wOBA: Last (.278) BB%: Last (3.7%) LD%: Last (16.4%) GB%: First (60.3%) Soft%: First (24%) He might be the least well-suited position player to bat in that spot. Move him down until he gets right. This is just so depressing to read. He was someone I think pretty much everyone just assumed would be a lock to be productive.
  14. I feel like you should be sitting in the back of an ambulance right now, wrapped up in a blanket while someone brings you hot coffee. It's going to be OK.
  15. So, soccer guys...what's the deal with FIFA? Do most of you look at them as a necessary evil, or a corrupt organization that needs to be burned down? I've been following this stories from Qatar and the corruption just seems beyond the pale.
  16. SCHWAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRBER.
  17. It's hilarious how they're not even trying to pretend that the "stakes" of the movie aren't exactly the same as the stupid, stupid TV show. "OH MY GOD, IF VINCE'S MOVIE BOMBS HE'S TOTALLY DONE, BRO."
  18. "I don't know what happened; he seemed like he was a such a nice guy when we were signing him to an NFL contract."
  19. Even if Castro was good Castro I wouldn't want him hitting 4th over Soler or even Coghlan at this point.
