it's free Didn't used to be. And NSBB has always worked fine on my phones and tablets, so I have no idea what tree was doing. Probably using a Newton.

Sounds about right; the broadly summarized reasoning behind his previous bad year was that the Cubs tried to make him a more patient hitter and it was just so at odds with his approach that it was a disaster. He's just a "too naturally" an aggressive hitter; he can't even be patient when the opportunity to be so is practically starting him in the face. Very frustrating.

Well, they could actually drop him lower than #5 in the lineup (and the only time they've done that recently is when Fowler is inexplicably batting #4). Every spot is going to come up at critical times, but keeping him planted at #4 is just really highlighting how much he's struggling. -
Meh. As long as we get continued improvement from the young guys, I think we'll be right there. jason heyward finally has the timbo fantasy stink off of him, we have no shot. Maddon is supposed to be the genius at juggling lineups and using the whole roster. Get Baez up here and let him start doing it. He doesn't have some kind of magical ability to make mostly worthless players like Ross or Herrera or Baxter or Lake not be horrible.

Castro's really the only one that matters at all that anyone should be worried about in terms of lasting impact/problems. Soler kinda sorta too Eh; it's a young guy who is figuring things out. Definitely what anyone wanted/hoped for at this point, but fortunately it's not really anything to panic over. He's a work in progress, same as Russell. It's definitely easy to get spoiled when a freak like Bryant shows up.

Where is this new Lake? The guy has been terrible coming in to tonight. I will say he does look more patient at the plate. Limited sample size, sure, but if he is more patient it hasn't manifested into anything beyond diddly-squat at this point. His numbers stink and there's no real BABIP outlier. Understood. I am a believer in the process, though. So if he does show better selection at the plate (agreed, way too small a sample size) then better numbers have a chance to be produced. That said, I'm not defending Lake. Just a small observation of his early at-bats. Fair enough.
