  1. No wonder the Giants should trade for that guy!
  2. Dat ball one AKA shoulda been strike three. GIVE ME ROBOTS.
  3. Would they have him play winter ball to try and get more time back there? He didn't seem to demonstrate much in the minors or his limited time catching in the majors that screamed that they need or should keep him at catcher outside of how dreamy it is to have an offensive monster manning the dish.
  4. He's still just a platoon player. Obviously you can make that work, but FFS, there's a decent group of OF FA available and it would be nice if they were able to pick up one of them instead of trying to figure out how to Frankenstein Coghlan into the lineup. Yeah, he's been one of their better hitters this season, but that really shouldn't be the case next year. Let him be the awesome super-sub in 2016 and then wave good-bye. Plus who knows what the deal is going to be with 2B.
  5. I hope SSR can be there when the Cubs retire Grace's number.
  6. I love how it just says "three behind in the NL WC race" without mentioning that the team they're trying to overtake right now would be the team the guy they want to trade for is on. VERY CRAFTY, SPORTS GUY.
  7. I'm still kinda terrified of the Cubs settling for re-signing Fowler as being all that they should do with the OF for next season. He's countering being REALLY bad for a while by being amazing, which really skews what the hell to expect out of him going forward, plus I'm still wary about how his defense is suddenly rated as being a lot more tolerable this season. I wouldn't mind bringing him back if it went along with, say, signing Heyward (or Cespedes) and trading Soler, but just going forward with Schwarber, him and Soler all but locked in as the OF would make me a little nervous.
  8. Sorry, you might have to stop putting Fowler on those rosters: http://www.inquisitr.com/2352620/san-francisco-giants-trade-rumors-dexter-fowler-may-be-headed-to-the-giants/ Why in God's name would someone be paid to write this.
  9. Mentioned it another thread, but imagine the wailing and gnashing of teeth if the Astros were still in the division.
  10. Pretty close. Cubs are 89.4 right now. Imagine if the [expletive] Astros were still in the division.
  11. Greatest pitcher of all time. I'll fight anyone who says otherwise.
  12. He's scared of his own shadow. He's VERY scared of clouds.
  13. That's why anyone who acts like they were appalled by it at the time is a dirty, stinkin' liar. It was so much fun
  14. You're scared of literally every Cubs game anywhere.
  15. Dear god, why? They all suck. As do Herrera, James Russell, and Dan Haren. Unless we can retroactively go back to the trade deadline and improve those spots on the roster... Duke Silver for 2015 MVP.
  16. Doughboys.
  17. I want more super positive meatballs. Find me a guy who just knew that Soriano was the greatest leadoff hitter of all time, or that he can't be convinced that Aramis Ramirez wasn't the swiftest, most defensively gifted player he ever saw. I want to party with that guy.
  18. Worrrrrrrrrrrrrd.
  19. Uh, what? I don't think Mojo was at all equating Maddon and Theriot's praise. He was specifically pointing out how this was different. Yeah; it's still bonkers, but it's at least a step up.
