  1. Correct. This is the most difficult month of the season schedule-wise, 18 games against playoff contenders. The Cubs are 10-4 in those games. Despite losing 8 of 12 they're still playing at a 109 win pace overall. The pitching has continued to be solid. Things are more than fine. I think it's fine to express frustration so long as perspective is maintained. Being a well-adjusted person doesn't mean having no emotions whatsoever. People differ in their levels of expression, is all. At best this makes you this guy:
  2. AS GAWD IS MY WITNESS, THE CUBS' OFFENSE IS BROKEN IN HALF!!!
  3. Hey, at least we can get to bed at a reasonable hour.
  4. It's weird how the doom boners always talk about how they're too busy to show up for most of the games when the Cubs are good, but then the Cubs go on a stretch of funky baseball and they somehow manage to be here every damn game.
  5. That's why it's dongs or nothing. Knock off this piddling, no-dong horsefeathers.
  6. Yeah, he should kill one player to set an example for the rest of the team. mojo (mistakenly) nominated zobrist : ( Zobrist obviously would be the one doing the killing.
  7. I say they lose in humiliating fashion tonight and the rage and shame is so great they never lose again for the rest of the season and they lay waste to everyone.
  8. Lackey gave up that home run literally 5 seconds after I turned the game on, so I shall declare him to be a loathsome, horse-toothed anus no matter how well he actually pitched.
  9. If he made this his walkup music I would actually like him: https://youtu.be/taA5bbLpA0s
  10. You know it's just temporary, so it makes it incredibly boring. It's like the week or two before Christmas and it feels like it takes horsefeathering FOREVER.
  11. Easy there, kiddo. Lots of bad luck in the late innings. The out of the basepaths call, the liner right to SS, and then that. It's frustrating. That's just some goofy horsefeathers, man. Pretty sure a comfortably 1st place team losing a 1-0 game isn't some kind of divine smiting.
  12. I'd take him out back and shoot him. Time for a Code Red.
  13. Just stop. The guy still plays fantastic defense and he's had a whopping 6 bad games to make up his current slump. Since there's nobody they need to make space for who's going to do better you just let him play through it, y'know, like you want a developing player to do. He's struck out 8 times in 4 games now. I forgot he was off Friday, but still he looks lost at the moment. So what? Again, he still brings excellent defense and you want him to be able to play through times like this.

  15. Addison Russell's last two weeks 12 G 49 PA .273/.347/.545 (.892) 14K 5 BB Well then, I was wrong (except about the Ks). Doesn't seem like he's been hitting that much lately to have that average. Last two weeks overall look fine, but he's been terrible for the last week coming in to tonight: .063 .167 .125 .292 Likely just a mini-slump. Basically just the tiny sample size of looking amazing one week and completely wretched the next.
  16. Yeah after seemingly hitting rockets everywhere and taking walks for those few weeks there he seems to really be struggling the past ~2 weeks. I haven't looked at the numbers to know if that's true but it seems like it's been a while since he's made some hard contact and he's striking out a lot. He can join Fowler, Rizzo and Baez in the struggling club How is Fowler "struggling?" Last 7 days: .286 .423 .571 .995 Last 14 days: .286 .400 .476 .876 Last 30 days: .277 .396 .434 .830
