    I would have too, given the score and depleted bullpen, but he was at 61 pitches already. Montgomery sure looks like an intriguing 6th man next year. Assuming who leaves? Is Hammel a free agent? Why would someone have to leave for Montgomery to be the 6th man?

    lol im in the same boat. every day is some variation of "looking forward to the game tonight" *three innings later* "this is so boring, we're up by a million games" I wanna be able to do my "play the first 3 innings, sim to the last 3 innings" thing like I do on The Show every horsefeathering game.

    the play by play is really bad, but it has nothing to do with my distaste for his bumbling goofy country bumpkin sounding ass. he's not good at speaking. he isn't funny or anything (as far as a redeeming quality) and i really have no idea what the basis is for saying he's solid..his analysis is generally as meatbally and conventional old school wisdom as anyone (not that most of his peers in his profession are generally much better - so maybe that's where you're coming from?) i don't like a single thing about him. the pbp is just icing on the cake. Couldn't agree more; it's lowest common denominator pandering that ultimately isn't that far off from Hawk. I certainly don't expect radio color guys to be amazing, but I think a big part of why guys like Moreland and Coomer seem so bad is the Cubs have had such great color guys in the TV booth between Bob and JD.

    Absolutely. There's a good opportunity to give guys extra rest between outings and Maddon has to take advantage. This is especially true with a guy like Rondo, when you consider the likelihood that Chapman walks and Hector goes back to closing next year. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
