  1. Wait, HAPP hit a dong? Now everything is suspect.
  2. Schwarber looking good in a wet jersey. Weird.
  3. Great; how am I supposed to notice a game starts at horsefeathering 6:10?!? I missed all the good stuff.
  4. Ugh, this nightmare still sounds like he's in a real bad way: https://deadspin.com/white-sox-reliever-danny-farquhar-is-in-the-fight-of-h-1825468317
  5. It's Darvish's 6th season and Contreras' 3rd; to paint it in REALLY broad strokes like it's potentially some raw-ass rookie just off the bus chewing out Nolan Ryan fresh off of his latest headlock is more than a tad disingenuous.
  6. The obvious, glaring flaw in that (I mean, there's a LOT of them) is that it hinges on the idea that Montero was ONLY traded because of that one incident.
  7. I think the dude got screwed over playing in such a crazy offensive era; he ended up being overlooked and thought of as a utility-type player. And bouncing around as much he did probably helped foster that, too. That said, I was surprised his total WAR was so high. I was thinking 50+ instead of 60+.
  8. Kenny Lofton = HoF? What say ye? Dude's unfortunately already off the ballot.
  9. I guess that still could point to a concussion, and the symptoms subsiding and returning.
  10. Also an understandable question this season. (The astonishing answer is: YES!)
  11. I remember people complaining along those lines, like, "oh, now he stands too far off of the plate," whether that was true or not. I ended up just figuring the guy probably had a bad enough concussion and had to deal with the symptoms at least for the rest of the season (though didn't he get super hot again for a few weeks later that season, too?).
  12. Great bat flip...all-time terrible name.
  13. Obviously out. Now get the horsefeathers out of this cursed scum pit.

  15. So he managed to almost match the lofty standards of Tyler Anderson. AIM BIG.
  16. No doom bonering here, friend-o; I don't assume terrible things are going to happen and am always hoping for the best.
  17. Maybe I'm too demanding, but I'd prefer a Cubs starter to not only go 5.1 and give up 4 earned runs regardless of the stadium given how the starting rotation has looked thus far. It literally took a ball to drop that’s caught 99.99999999% of the time for the 4 ERs to happen. If that doesn’t happen he likely goes long since his pitch count is way down and the lead is bigger. I guess I'd be curious as to when you think a Cubs starter has actually stunk this year, or if there are always mitigating circumstances. "Just one bad inning, just a bunch of weak contact, etc., etc.."
  18. I mean I don’t think that’s what people are saying. It’s just that it’s Coors, pitchers are going to struggle and give up HRs. They all count but there’s some context with them. Yeah, I wasn’t even saying it was because of Coors. I was saying people were getting really mad at him for giving up two solo shots as his only mistakes of the game. Maybe I'm too demanding, but I'd prefer a Cubs starter to not only go 5.1 and give up 4 earned runs regardless of the stadium given how the starting rotation has looked thus far.
