This is the 10th consecutive game the Cubs have batted a non-pitcher 9th. Yes, and for most of July they weren't doing that, hence, again, "more often than not." And, regardless, who gives a horsefeathers that they've gone back to batting the pitcher 8th when the 9th hitter has mostly been Seal Boy or Russell? -
That no cheese-havin', terrible bread-wearin' sandwich offends me. And giardiniera is only a slightly less terrible topping than the worthless detritus that gets dumped all over a Chicago-style hot dog. I spent my week in Chicago eating nothing but delicious non-Chicago food traditions and it was WONDERFUL.

I even added the "more often than not" for THIS EXACT reason and it still happened. I hope you drop both of one of those stupid sandwiches and the even stupider pizza right into your lap.

Or, considering he’s been hitting well there, they could just keep him in that spot. Unless there's some kind of leadoff spot-exclusive sorcery involved in Rizzo not being terrible, it would probably behoove them to not having a guy who went .293 .394 .478 .873 last month not hitting right after the damn pitcher's spot more often than not.

Yeah, more often than not the lineup doesn't matter too much given the talent they have, but then sometimes you get games like this where it's baffling even before the first pitch. Quit dicking around and trying to be too clever for your own good, Joe.

He absolutely should’ve been pulled and that was the right move, not PH’ing for him was idiotic and Chavez should’ve got a clean inning, then Joe just decided 3 runs was too much to overcome and decided to put in the worst possible relievers This is a really, really weird game along those lines. Joe acting like the bullpen is hugely taxed or something out of nowhere.
