  1. I love the blue jerseys. As far as I'm concerned its 1. Blues 2. Pinstripes . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1314350974260. Those hideous gray road uni's. Werd. If they could put the gray ones through a bit of a redesign I might like them more. However it's not all that likely. I just think gray is a terrible, terrible uniform color. There's something about the grey and the red on the hats they wear then that seems off. I love the grey jerseys on their own for me to wear, but I'm pretty indifferent to them on a whole as a uniform. All I know is I don't loathe them with a sexy passion like I do those damn blues.
  2. Owned. OH jeez an awkward position the quarterback is in after a sack and the tight end is on his knees. Believe me, there are some we can post with Favre and Urlacher. Who's in the Conference Championship again? Relax. Seriously, learn how to take a joke. Dude I hate the packers like I hate spinach and terrorism and the view and I THINK THAT IS Hilarious. Agreed. And it can get even better: http://rexpoo.ytmnsfw.com/
  3. What!? Those jerseys ARE the Cubs. To me, the pinstripes have always been "the alternatives" (and fugly ones at that). . You're completely, utterly and totally wrong three different times in that statement, and on as many levels as is humanly possibly, plus a few made up just for kicks.
  4. Man, I'll take grey ones any day of the week over the blues. The blues look so cheap and amateur. It makes them look like the Blue Jays in the 80's.
  5. Hey, even perfect mechanics have trouble with a fullspeed runner and a screaming line drive. What are the odds a pitcher would suffer two such injuries in such a short span of time?
  6. I wish they'd lose those awful, weekend softball team-looking blue jerseys over any other uniform change. Those things are almost as bad as the pajamas from the early 80's. I know Z loves them, but he looks so much more awesomer in pinstripes.
  7. I hope this public shaming keeps Perez from ever playing another game for a major league team for the rest of his life. Neifi, wherver you are, I'm sure you're a great guy...you're simply one of the worst baseball players I have ever seen and ever will see. Please stop killing the sport that I love so much. Enjoy having made more money than I can even dream of and live a long and happy life. Just do it away from baseball. FAR away. Thanks. Kisses.
  8. 5 of 7 CNNsi writers pick New Orleans. i just love it when most people pick against us... All 4 guys on HBO's Inside the NFL picked the Saints. Costas technically picked the Bears, but he said he did that just because he "has" to pick against one of the others, I forget which one, though.
  9. I say to hell with all that and just settle for beating the everlovin' crap out of them on the field.
  10. Of course there isn't. I can't tell if you're sarcastic or not. If so, the Tribune gave the team the money to spend. It's not like they had zero say as to how it was spent, or at least knowledge of how it was going to be spent and how the contracts would be set up. I really don't see how the Cubs are suddenly on a tight budget given how they've been spending and how much money they've saved on re-signing guys like Wood, Aramis, Miller and Ohman. I don't see how anyone can know if the Cubs are at their limit. They don't report their true financial state, and their budget -- as we found out in dramatic fashion this year -- is highly arbitrary. Exactly. The Cubs randomly decide to spend and they have as much money as they want/need. What are people seeing that indicates that they're running light in the pockets?
  11. I don't think so. I've never seen anyone want him for anything but a platoon with Jacque/anyone else stinking it up against lefties and a decent bat against lefties on the bench.
  12. Actually the reports on Wood, Miller and Prior are positive! Man, I hope and pray Prior is healthy! http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070117&content_id=1780798&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc Not to be a rotten egg, but it is, after all, cubs.com... Translation: there will be no CF acquisition. Wow, the Cubs pumped the payroll way up and backloaded all their big deals, yet are still forced to lean heavily on a very sketchy rookie due to a money crunch. Wait til the really big paychecks come due in 2009. Could get real ugly unless the farm surprises everybody and produces a major contribution to the big team in the next 2 years. Where are you getting the bolded part of your post from what was quoted? Do you doubt for one second that Hendry wouldn't be seeking an established veteran everyday CF if there was money available to take on another big salary? The Cubs are 1000% in win-now mode and there's not a chance in hell Hendry is happy about relying on Pie after his dismal showing in winter ball. Hendry's spin that he's not seeking a veteran starting CF because he believes it's important to develop your own players is total BS. If the Trib gave him more money for it he'd be on the phone 10 seconds later making offers for a CF. Who is there out there for them to sign along those lines? Once you got past Drew the list was incredibly short of people that could potentially outperform Jacque or Pie. There's zero reason to believe that there's suddenly a "money crunch" just because they didn't throw piles of cash at someone for CF. Of course there isn't. I can't tell if you're sarcastic or not. 13. The names are for foos who don't follow the team. :x I just like the personal touch. On the better players, I think it seems more intimidating.
  14. And Sosa, Ramirez, Borowski and Grudz. Didn't Walker also miss some time? 2004 was a disaster. I'll happily take 2004 again (in terms of standings) sans its last 2 weeks (those were the real disaster) over anything we've had since, and probably 2007, too.
  15. Len is so awesome, even the camera trembles in the face of his majesty.

  17. He'll be back after his induction into the HoF.. Assuming he gets in as a Cub. Ah, but when does he get into the Hall?
  18. Everyone do their rain/snow-dance.
  19. Double good.
  20. I'd like Sammy to end his career with at least 600 and eventually repairing his ties with the Cubs organization down the line. Good for him.

  22. Therein lies the big picture. Whether Prior "deserves" the money or not on the scope we're talking about is moot. When it comes to baseball money, this might as well be nothing. The guy has a legit shot at being a good to great to one of the greats pitcher for a long time. A little bump like this might help in the long run to re-signing him if he bounces back. If he doesn't, this money isn't even close to mattering towards anything.
  23. Huh? Lilly made 4 million and Prior made 3.6 last year. How do you figure Prior makes more. He barely even pitched last year? Because Prior is Prior and Lilly is Lilly. Prior hasn't been Prior in quite sometime. For one season. And even so, he's at least been Prior at some point relatively recently in his very young career. Lilly has always been Lilly.
