  1. I think Earth2Sean had the same idea so a couple of us are already slapping it up. Share the Pie!
  2. He had a piece centered around him on Comcast SportsNite last night. I couldn't stop staring at his majestic eyebrows.
  3. This is a lot of fun to watch. I'm baffled as to why Comcast doesn't show more classic games.
  4. Stop dwelling on running speed. Stop acting like Roberts never gets out or ends up scoring more then Soriano.
  5. Looks like Eyre, "cleverly" disguised with the red hat and shirt.
  6. I love that the guy with "leg issues for several years" was a rare 40/40 player just one season ago.
  7. Why not? Soriano poses a serious threat at the top of the order, and it's not like he gets on base at a horrible clip. Putting better hitters directly after him would likely make him even more of a threat with the pitches he'd see.
  8. Almost all of Major League Baseball thought for years that the home run was a "fad" and hitting a bunch of them was basically unsportsmanlike. Almost all of Major League Baseball still thinks the save is an awesome stat. I can trump that. The Cy Young is mostly hinged on a pitcher's W-L record. Pitcher's W-L is one of the dumbest stats ever created in any sport. Damn right.

  10. Soriano's offensive numbers suffer the more he hits with guys on. Why not keep him leadoff and then bat Roberts 2nd (which is moot since the Cubs won't get him)? Then Roberts is still hitting ahead of Lee and Aramis.

  12. Exactly. I think a brand new stadium in Miami is going to drastically increase the fans attending. The current stadium seems designed to drive away as many people as possible.
  13. While securing a new stadium is great news for the Marlins they still have to fill seats. It's still debatable that people will support this club on a daily basis and fill the stadium. Obviously, if the revenues from the stadium allows them to keep the young talent they have that will help, but I have my doubts about whether or not Miami will come out for the Marlins. If it's gonna have a dome, I can see them getting a lot more people to come out based on that alone. The brutal sun/humdiy/heat with the threat of sudden rain seemingly all the time is pretty big part of keeping people away from a three hour baseball game.
  14. I couldn't possibly care less about the fake, forced Brewers/Cubs "rivalry." There's nothing there. There wouldn't be more of one with the Royals, but at least the Cubs would be more likely to win at least a few more games because of it.
  15. He's got Hideki Matsui's skin.
  16. No. The psychological impact of asomeone themselves killing animals simply for the pleasure/sadism of it stems from they themselves actually doing the killing. They're getting the charge out of killing something themselves. That is significanly different psychologically than people who get a charge out of seeing other things kill each other, to which you have varying degrees. Boxing, ultimate fighting, people getting killed in films, animal fighting...all along that spectrum, but all VERY different than someone getting a thrill or sensation from actually killing something themselves.
  17. A badger with a machete taped to its head vs. a wolverine with a buzzsaw tied to its tail. FIGHT!!!!
  18. "Wacky pitcher?" Ugh. I have a feeling it's more like, "oh, Carlos, everything you do is hilarious! Now please don't snap me in half."
  19. No way. Please don't rush this, Cobs.
  20. How about a chimp with like steel fists vs. a 5 point buck with laser eyes. NOW we're talking. Ancient Rome shouldn't have 'ess on us, what with our modern technologies and all. SHOULD WE NOT BE ENTERTAINED?!?
  21. Elephannnnnnnnnnt fiiiiiiiiiights. Come on people, get behind me on this. Then we'll get creative, like, a gorilla with a bat vs. a polar bear with a grudge.
  22. It's a very bizarre sentence that actually hurts to read.
  23. :D I'm not positive because I can't find the stat, but I think Z had good run support last season. I think it was a more a joke based on how he's tended to give up a lot of runs in April.
  24. Here's hoping he finally doesn't suck on opening day. A non-sucky April would be nice, too. Or at least a less sucky one.
