  1. Wait, why the blue hell do you want them to waste prospects/money on a bullpen this year?
  2. you didn't even see the best ones in the blackhawks thread Were there ones from this year? I saw the ones last year and thought he was banned before the new season started.
  3. Just to be depressingly technical: the Cubs have actually now lost 8 straight to the Pirates dating back to last season.
  4. Eh, baseball is baseball. I love watching it more than any other sport, and even when the Cubs are bad they still pull wins out of their asses I can enjoy. If I haven't ignored a season of theirs to this point, there's really no reason to start now. I've been through a lot worse.
  5. There were a lot of cynosure freak outs to love.
  6. Damn, so close. Just flip 3-4 with 5-6 and it would be swell.
  7. OK, now I get it.
  8. But they're only over from re-signing their own guys, right?
  9. What's most likely is that he's NOT A [expletive] A RELIEVER and can't handle the workload. Weird how that happens. The guy has trouble not cramping up or having tightness or whatever when he has 5 days between starts, so how the hell did they ever expect him to stay in "setup shape?"
  10. Given the contract that doesn't make any [expletive] sense.
  11. the man can't go over, that's not how the soft cap works. you can only go over if you're signing your own players. Ah, gotcha. I thought it was an issue of paying some kind of luxury tax or something.
  12. Do the Nets actually have room for two max FA's or is it just assumed that their money-mad Russian owner will just pay what it takes to go over? That guy is like a James Bond villain come to life, what with him actually [expletive] FINDING GOLD and, of course, being all mixed up with Putin.
  13. Noah seriously needs to be on that list. He sure as hell is a much better choice than Buerhle.
  14. Every team is awesome when they play the CUBS !!!! How pathetic is it that we have a losing record and we've played teams like the Pirates, Nationals, Astros, and Diamondbacks? We haven't even played actual good teams yet. We'll be lucky if we win 70 games this year. With Lee and Aramis being terrible and Lou's screwy lineups the Cubs are little better, if at all, than those teams.
  15. I had ESPN 1000 on as I was going to bed and was cracking up at the late night guy ranting about how "the LeBron-Kobe question has been answered" like Kobe was the only player worth a [expletive] on the Lakers and their success is due only to him. Yeah, it's not like the Lakers aren't arguably the best team in the NBA right now. Enjoy late nights, jerk store.
  16. Unless they know he's not coming back no matter what.
  17. The bold text is completely false. You had a few people here gung-ho for Lou, but most were vehemently opposed against hiring him even when it was just being suggested before Dusty was actually gone. When Lou was got hired the general consensus beyond those fanatical few was basically "at least he's not Joe Girardi/it could be worst" in terms of being positive.
  18. This division is an embarrassment.
  19. Wow, what a [expletive] embarrassing end for the Cavaliers.
  20. So you think there's no chance that this is actually my opinion and I'm only posting it to be contrary? What the hell would be the point?
  21. Good Lord, it's like we broke you.
  22. Hendry should be fired. Lou should just be allowed to walk when his deal is up at the end of the season.
  23. Best part of this is this guy thinking Cleveland could have been redeemed.
  24. What was the big deal about a decrepit vacant dump being torn down for housing projects? because it was in New York. durrr What would be the big deal if a crappy, overgrown stadium where nobody ever won anything was torn down in Chicago to make room for overpriced north side condos? It's all in the dumb ass symbolism.
