  1. Lord no. He sounds a baritone Kermit the Frog at this point.
  2. No [expletive]. I don't "expect" them to write it any other way...I just don't like it. Though I completely disagree that there aren't people who would hear this story and then just assume it's what the average Iranian wants and supports.
  3. If the Yankees offer is Joba then I don't mind trying to find something. I think the key in that is Joba..."and other pieces." Joba ain't getting this deal done on his own. The Yanks are going to have to either pony up the good prospects as well.
  4. I really hope the Cubs don't consider trying to figure out what that package is.
  5. I hate it when articles like that say things like "Iran objects to blah-blah-blah," like the whole country agrees with something so dumb. Iran is made up mostly of cool people who have the misfortune of being born into a country run by assholes.
  6. Yeah, I'd have no problem if they dropped the idea of him stealing.
  7. Completely unfounded? Of course not, because that's an absolute. But I think he's more likely to put up numbers at least in the vicinity of what he did in 2007-2009 than his 2010 being an indication of him toppling off of a cliff. Outside of the increased numbers of ground balls the biggest issue was that he was playing hurt last year so I think there's a very good chance that he rebounds back to levels resembling what he was in the three seasons leading up to 2010.
  8. You don't honestly think 2010 Pena was the same hitter as 2008 Pena, do you? No, probably because he was injured.
  9. But his strikeout rate doesn't seem to be climbing, plus his hits were severely impacted by some bad luck last year. It's not like he had a spike in swinging and missing vs. hits last year. His strikeouts basically stayed the same while he hit into a lot more outs than he had the previous 3 years. If he's going to be some variation of 2007-2009 Pena it would be pretty hard to argue against him hitting #3.
  10. Pretty good. Seemed real eager to make a good impression. It was nice having someone being able to at least attempt some kind of analysis.
  11. I'VE MADE A HUGE MISTAKE.
  12. Castro singles, so add another 5 victories.
  13. Zambrano 1-2-3 1st, Kosuke walks to leadoff...111-51, PRINT IT.
  14. Moreland's already like the anti-Santo, and it's what I've wanted for a while now...but aw, Ronnie.
  15. Well, it's with about 100 less PA (444 vs. 339), but the argument could be made that Kosuke hits better from the #2 spot instead of #1. .233 .355 .363 .718 .255 .353 .427 .780 Though with 368 PA he's been very effective hitting #5: .291 .381 .468 .850 So hell, I don't know. Maybe something like: Castro Soto Pena Aramis Fukudome Soriano Byrd DeWitt
  16. Sure as hell would be better than Tampa.
  17. Would that really be a concern these days? This is Nu-Vegas we're talking about here. And actually, forget the economic questions...aren't they going to run out of [expletive] water, too?
  18. Yeah, his numnbers weren't too hot there last year, but he only started 47 games there last year. He's still got a career .355 OBP there over his three years with the Cubs. Personally, I'd be happy with him hitting 1st or 2nd I'd go Castro/Fuku/Pena/Aram/Soto/Soriano/Byrd/DeWitt myself Works for me.
  19. THAT'S NOT WHAT IT IS. RARGH.
  20. Yeah, his numnbers weren't too hot there last year, but he only started 47 games there last year. He's still got a career .355 OBP there over his three years with the Cubs. Personally, I'd be happy with him hitting 1st or 2nd
  21. Swap Pena and Byrd and then Byrd and Soto and I love that lineup.
