  1. A) Hopefully he's only a 1-year option until we land Pujols or Fielder He's only signed to 1 year. I thought he had a team option for a 2nd. Nope. $5 million of his $10 million is, however, deferred to 2012.
  2. Yeah, I wasn't expecting to at all, but this is fun.

  4. Eh, it's still really early. Even with the ugly OPS last year and the year before he still beat the hell out of the ball.
  5. Who else should the Cubs throw out? Gorzelanny? wait...... So now we're going to pretend like they should have held on to Gorzelanny?
  6. Part of me thinks this is something Pujols was waiting for, too.
  7. Figured this was coming. Open up those pocketbooks, Cubs.
  8. Well, crud. Mauer to the DL. Drop Mauer Add Jason Heyward And there go my 1st half transactions.
  9. He was really good last year, too, as well as 2006-2007 and 2007-2008. He's really been undervalued by tons of Bulls fans due to injuries and a couple of less than stellar seasons.
  10. He's really not that much worse a hitter against lefties as opposed to righties. Hell, most of his power show last season was against LH pitchers. Granted, he's had more PA against lefties, but I think he's just slumping in general.
  11. NO, THAT'S ALL BASEBALL, YOU MORON. Drives me nuts when managers bring up the pitcher saying they don't want to come out. It seems like such a cowardly deflection when pretty much no professional pitcher is going to seay they want to come out unless they're physically unable to pitch.
  12. Fixed... Brett Jackson or McNutt or Vitters if they get called up would be fun to watch as well. Pena on a hot streak as well and Garza with his 14 H & K/9. Everyone else, well... ehhh Yeah, who gives a [expletive] about that hack Soto or that lazy guy Aramis Ramirez.
  13. Probably just a slow start. He'll get plenty of PA this year in the role he's in.
  14. Right. Grabow's perfectly serviceable if used correctly, too.
  15. Skiles sucks because he's shitty at managing his teams. He can be an amazing strategist all he wants; he can't manage guys for [expletive]. Boozer isn't the key person that Thibs need to have on his side. Boozer can end up being as pissy as he wants; it's not Boozer's team. He's a hired gun. Thibs has the necessary guys on his side and they want to play for him. If the Bulls' players are the type to turn on a coach when they suck then [expletive] 'em. I don't want a babysitter who is going to coddle them and I don't want an idiot hardass like Skiles. The Bulls are lucky they have a smart hardass who is a fantastic strategist and actually knows how to manage his team.
  16. I hope he isn't too much like Scott Skiles. Every teams Skiles has coaches grew tired of him within a few years. I don't remember any Bulls players ever reacting to or about Skiles like you're hearing the current ones talk about Thibs. They seem to be totally onboard with his approach to the game. From what I remember, they were early on with Skiles too. But that sort of coaching wears on you. Boers and Bernstein made the point that Phil Jackson learned not to coach every possession. What he's doing is fine this year, but I am worried long term. And I say worried because obviously Tom is a great coach and I want to see him in Chicago long term. Nah, you never heard anything like this with Skiles. Just the basic, perfunctory backing up the coach rhetoric. The other huge difference is how much better a coach Thibs is than Skiles. People got fed up with Skiles because he was a hardass but he wasn't that good a coach. You've also got your key core players, Noah and Rose, on board 100% with Thibs early on in their careers.
  17. No need to be sarcastic; nobody cares about your fantasy teams.
  18. Fuckin' awesome season. Wake me up when Round 2 starts.
  19. He had a really nice one earlier, too, where he got a force out at 2nd by snagging a ball heading into LF and then firing to 2B as he was running away from it.
