  1. In fairness to Pena, there are little league fields that Fuld's HR wouldn't have got out of. And Pena's mostly faced lefties so far this year due to the minor injury. He'll be mashing soon enough.
  2. Man, I have no idea how long Barney can keep this up, but I am loving it.
  3. Until the next stiff breeze, which would land him on the DL again. I think Guzman is to the point where he can no longer be depended on as an option. They're not depending on him for anything. Anything he can bring will be a bonus, and they'd be foolish not to try.
  4. I agree. I wasn't arguing against Marshall.
  5. If he can get past Lee, he should be good. I just wish Quade would look at Marshall as the setup guy. He's a [expletive] idiot To be fair, I think most managers would be that way, sadly. Most of them are going to want/expect their setup guy to have a blow-it-by-them pitch.

  7. Pretty nervous about Wood pitching in this game.
  8. Well, that's kind of the point; Barney shouldn't have even been the one trying to make the catch, especially with a guy on 3rd and only 1 out.
  9. Rammy's gonna give them some more breathing room in a bit.
  10. Can't really chalk this up on Quade yet. Zambrano's been cruising and up until that HR the Astro's offense consisted of some dinky singles, a bunt that refused to go over the line and Colvin not making an easy out. They actually ended up getting the out at second on the Colvin play. Who knows if the Lee would have tagged up and scored from third, though. Either way, there was still going to be the runner on first and Downs hit a HR after so that likely doesn't change much. Still frustrating though. With Colvin 80 feet behind first and Lee on third? Yeah, no way Lee is sent if Colvin makes that catch.
  11. Come on. I've been pissed plenty at him so far, but this is very different from the Dempster games. Up until the HR it would have been stupid to pull Z.

  13. That's on Colvin. He's got a much better vantage point and needs to call off the 2B.
  14. Ugh, what an annoying inning. Between the bunt that didn't roll foul and Colvin [expletive] up in RF, Z's probably annoyed.
  15. i bet i'm the only one who knows what this means. Did you get to see it, sulley? I only saw the first two parts when it was on OnDemand. It's streaming on Netflix now if you've got that. I haven't gotten around to it yet, though. Oh, nice. I'll definitely finish it up.

  17. It could be four things: The Bulls are playing their final tune-up game before the playoffs, The Blackhawks are playing game one of their playoff series, and we're facing the garbage Astros and it's the second week of the season. It's all that, plus the last two lackluster seasons and just how awful the game threads got during that time.

  19. Ohhhhhhhhhhh snap. That was snazzy, Castro.
  20. I hope he isn't too much like Scott Skiles. Every teams Skiles has coaches grew tired of him within a few years. I don't remember any Bulls players ever reacting to or about Skiles like you're hearing the current ones talk about Thibs. They seem to be totally onboard with his approach to the game.
  21. Have the posters here just jizzed their pants.
  22. Thibs will probably be dead within a year or two, so let's just ride it out.
  23. Hah! Comcast cut away from Ozzie's press conference because he was spraying s-bombs. Though apparently Sale had pitched 2 innings the night before and Thornton was rested and he still opted to go with Sale. Yeah, Thornton has already blown his share of saves this year, but if he's rested and they have a 3-run lead then put him in over the guy who just used for 2 innings the night before.
