  1. Go, man, go!
  2. To be fair, at least about Fukudome, De La Rosa is a lefty and he's probably just playing the matchups to avoid the Fukucopter. How is De La Rosa against lefties? I posted Fukudome's 2010 numbers to show that sitting him when he's as hot as he is out of some fear that "he can't hit lefties" is ridiculous. Here are De La Rosa's numbers against LH hitters: .240 .326 .359 .685 Here are Fukudome's numbers against lefties in 2008: http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.cgi?id=fukudko01&year=2008&t=b#plato::none The idea that he has to sit against them came from how bad he was against them in 2009. In 2008 and 2010 he was at least serviceable, and when he's on a tear like this he should be out there. Fukudome should be starting today.
  3. Unbelievable. I cannot understand on any level how Quade ever came to the conclusion that Byrd should bat #3. And hey, give Fukudome the day off after going 5-5! http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.cgi?id=fukudko01&year=2010&t=b#plato::none
  4. I think we all watch plenty of baseball here. That kind of "show" absolutely does not happen all of the time. Pretty much every season. So one major leaguer, out of ~1000, in one game out of ~2500, acts like that. Finally we agree. Aw, you had to make something up. Never said it happens only once a season. Players needing to be "held back" happens waaaaay more than that each season.
  5. I think we all watch plenty of baseball here. That kind of "show" absolutely does not happen all of the time. Pretty much every season. I'll ask again: do you think Pie would have attacked the umpire if he wasn't being held back? Please. As soon as his coach puts his hands on him he starts playing it up because he knew he fucked up and just lost the game for his team. It's juvenile and a pretty ridiculous attempt at deflecting attention from how he just lost the game, but he wasn't going to do anything except throw a tantrum and get in the ump's face.
  6. If only people said someone was "acting like a [expletive]" instead of straight up calling them one! So many innocent misunderstanding could be avoided!
  7. Nah, it's really easy to dispute since players put on that kind of show all the time. You really think Pie was going to start pounding on the ump if he was let go? And yeah, a whackjob Birther "only" saying he's LIKE a savage and throwing banana chips at him is totally, totally different than calling him a savage.
  8. WICKED SMART GUY BURN.
  9. It's a toss up as to what was more savage there, his unforgiveable blackness or his terrifying Hispanic-ness. If only he was a short white player instead.
  10. Right there with you N&G. I'm hoping Zimmerman and Longoria come back with a flourish! Damn these slow starts!
  11. Yeah, because a player flipping out over an umpire call is so rare.
  12. Uhhhhh...what?
  13. Why? Because the starters overall have been terrible and Riggins isn't ready for the big leagues according to C. Silva. Coleman and Russell are going to be terrible regardless of who the coach is. Garza hasn't been terrible at all. Zambrano has been Zambrano. The only who is really stinking is Dempster, and I highly doubt he and everyone else forgot how his slider used to break just because Rothschild is gone. What do you have to say about Quade leaving Dempster in every [expletive] game when her clearly has NOTHING left. I hope I'm wrong about Quade, but I'm not a fan. Quade seems apprehensive about going to the bullpen in general until it's too late.

  15. we used two pinch hitters in the game, dewitt and reed johnson. if it's a five run game i can understand it, but a close game? give me a break. Ridiculous. And now he's trying to sound all tough and badass in the post-game interview. What a hack.
  16. Yeah, it's a pity the end of the season is right around the corner.
  17. Soooooooo no Aramis at all? Quade [expletive] sucks.
  18. Doesn't help that the manager can't manage the 3-5 spots to save his [expletive] life. What would you change about it? He moved Byrd down, Pena you gotta think will eventually start hitting for power. And hasn't Soto said he prefers to hit 8th? Don't care where he "prefers" to hit (and I doubt he said anything like that, and if it did it was just the diplomatic answer); he's too good to hit that low. Byrd has no business hitting anywhere 1-5. Pena needs to be dropped until he heats up. Fukudome-Castro-Aramis-Soto would likely produce more runs than what Quade keeps running out there. And yes, I get that Aramis is getting the day off. He needs to be hitting #3 when he's starting. We're pretty much in agreement I'd like to see Fuku Castro Aramis Pena Soto Soriano Byrd Barney ( i don't think he can keep this up) Pitcher Pretty much. I'd bat Baker 7th and Byrd 8th if it's a lefty. For the time being I'd drop Pena behind Soto, but I'm pretty confident he'll heat up as the weather does and will merit hitting 4th eventually.

  21. Why the [expletive] was Barney swinging with only 1 strike? Getting out of that with no runs is basically on him.
  22. It seems like every time I turn the radio on, it is during the 5th inning. What exactly does Pat do during the 5th inning? He's the one who takes the huge dump in Dusty's old spot in the dugout.
  23. Shingles? That's pink eye only if someone actually [expletive] in his eye.
  24. If only he could replicate his 778 May OPS throughout his career. It's like most Cubs fans think anything he does after the first 6 weeks must be some kind of elaborate ruse.
