  1. He'll get one tomorrow. Has Quade batted Aramis #3 at all this year?
  2. Alright, each time I've predicted a win this season they've lost, so I'm gonna say that the Cubs lose, 6-3.
  3. Soriano homered last night, right? Yup. Guess even Bruce had tuned out by then. Though it's much more likely WSR somehow screwed that up.
  4. What a silly kerfuffle!
  5. Seems like a big ol' hullabaloo over a bunch of flim-flam!
  6. Yeah, no. There's really no American player saying/doing that who wouldn't come across like an ignorant moron.
  7. But calling a Latin American player an animal and throwing banana chips at him while you do = not a jerk.
  8. Jesus get a [expletive] clue. I said earlier that I wouldn't have chosen the term savage. That doesn't change the fact that you are totally misusing it. How am I "misusing" it? I explained how the video of a player pissed at an ump don't stack up to the definition that you posted, and Scott's use of it makes him sound like an ignorant fool.
  9. Alrighty I'll put you in the savage = cannibal camp too So you were posting the definition to show that you're idea of "savage" is wrong and ridiculous? Because otherwise that post made no sense.
  10. So presumably he's looking down on guys when benches clear or mounds are charged or people celebrate a walkoff win...unless it's involving a team locked in a division/WC/postseason race. Or maybe they're just ALL savages.
  11. Nope. Every so often you'll get a real nutjob in baseball like Bradley. Most of the time, however, it's just jocks venting by throwing a hissyfit and putting on a show for the fans and their teammates to either act tough or try to distract from how they just screwed up. That said, even someone like Bradley isn't a "savage." Civilized people fight and throw fits and rant and so on all the time. It can, and often is, a sign if immaturity or even mental illness, but to make the huge leap that someone throwing a tirade in a sports game is somehow suddenly a "savage" or an "animal" and divorced from civilized humanity is absurd, especially when it's coming from an birther oaf like Scott chucking banana chips at a young Hispanic player and talking about him like he's some kind of misbehaving pet.
  12. There's really no reason to rush Jackson. Sure, if he's just ripping it in the minors and Byrd still sucks and we're deep into the summer but the Cubs are actually in it, OK. Otherwise Byrd is only here 1 more year and is very affordable. Might as well play him if he can bounce back and wait until September to bring up Jackson and then trade Byrd in the offseason (unless a team is really coveting him before the deadline).
  13. Only problem is Soriano also is not doing well. Now 5 for his last 32 and sporting a .235 batting average and getting on base at a .258 clip. He's still a better run producer right now than Byrd and Pena. Wouldn't be opposed to something like this at all: Fukudome Castro Aramis Soto Soriano Pena Barney Byrd Until Pena heats up.
  14. This Pretty much. Quade is really doing his best to show he's a typically crappy MLB manager. Can they just offer him his old job as back and hire a major league manager? Under better management, this team wouldnt be great, but theyd have a chance to be decent. I said "typically crappy" for a reason. Most MLB managers stink.
  15. Dammit, just a bit to your right, Aramis.
  16. Pretty obvious the plan wasn't for him to only pitch to one batter in the 5th. How was it obvious? He threw three pitches. The fact that he started the inning makes it pretty clear Quade was trying to sneak one more inning out of him. Then he overreacted and yanked him after giving up a monster home run. One terrible manager decision begats another. I think i hate Quade. I think I agree.

  19. Pretty obvious the plan wasn't for him to only pitch to one batter in the 5th. still makes it pretty dumb. if you want him to stay in the game then leave him in past that hitter, regardless of outcome. it shouldn't be "welp he gave up a home run, looks like he doesn't have it, better go to the pen." Hey, I'm not defending it. I think they should have either PH for him or let him finish the 5th.
  20. Soriano had one in the night game on Wednesday against the Padres. OK, thank God...I think.
  21. Pretty obvious the plan wasn't for him to only pitch to one batter in the 5th.
  22. Really wouldn't mind seeing the Cubs finally hit more than a few scattered home runs. Are the last two Cubs' homers Barney's and Reed's walkoff? Please tell me I'm forgetting something in between there.
  23. Alright, Starlin; raise one up into the wind.
