  1. Oh, conveniently cutting it off to exclude Zambrano? NOT COOL.
  2. That's my take on the whole thing; like, let's say he turns it around and starts playing well again for a while. How realistic is it to say he's an actual trade asset? His whole rep right now is as an abusive scumbag, so how many teams are going to actually give up anything of value for him? Yeah, I know teams have been more than happy in the past (including the VERY recent past) to gloss over this type of thing, but it does definitely feel like things have changed and are changing in terms of how fans and the media approach players like this. It seems like complete BS for the Cubs to be trying to shape this like they either want him to be good enough again to be a viable trade chip OR a useful player on the Cubs, because there's essentially no way for him to get out from under the stain (and rightly so) of what he did multiple times. This guy is NEVER going to be of any real value in a trade, and it's a horsefeathering farce for the Cubs to essentially act like he still needs to be on the team along those lines.
  3. "Berger Schatz" is a baller name.
  4. Winning games is always good, but the Cobs' offense scares the hell out of me right now in a bad, bad way.
  5. Bulls definitely belong in both until they finally upend the FO.
  6. You are guys are pretty cruel for wanting the Bulls to get their murderous fingers on good players.
  7. Yaaaaay. But it would be nice if the offense didn't rely on the pitcher's bat to win.
  8. Heyward has fallen off of a cliff, landed on another cliff, and then fell off of that, too.
  9. Hendricks can't be stopped. He's a better hitter than 75% of the Cubs lineup.
  10. Hendricks with a nice pitch count through 6.
  11. Freddie Freeman shows no mercy: [tweet] [/tweet]
  12. Meh; it's just the Reds. Might as well take advantage of when you can get a key player some needed rest. Likely just precautionary.
  13. Yeah, some people are talking about him like he's a lock to be another Giannis, which, OK; calm WAY down, folks. My hot, maybe not so hot, take is this draft pretty much sucks. It’s a bunch of role players/2nd-4th best players on a championship team at best (even Zion and Morant) and the media/narrative around it is trying to push guys to be things they likely aren’t at the NBA level because there always needs to be a GUY or GUYS taken high. Agreed. There's a bunch of "someone's eventually gonna have to pay a max contract to a guy who's not REALLY a max contract guy" guys in this one.
  14. LOL WUT? I think he’s being overblown as a Lebron or KD type franchise changer, for sure top 1-3 player in the league, that guarantees conference/finals runs with pretty much just him and role players. You have to take him #1, don’t get me wrong. But I think how it’s being talked about as an afterthought that’s he’s a lock to be this for sure great player is a bit much. He’s much more likely some weird new age combo of Draymond/Julius Randle/Blake Griffin type player to me. Which is perfectly fine. Yeah, some people are talking about him like he's a lock to be another Giannis, which, OK; calm WAY down, folks.
  15. LOL WUT? There's not-too-crazy analysis out there that has him likely ending up more as a Larry Johnson-type than the godkiller a lot of people are assuming. Which, hey, isn't a bad thing.
  16. it was a sox fan though Well...he's still not wrong, sadly.
  17. I'm pulling for him just because of the tragic mustache/acne combo.
  18. I mean...it's not only God that's hearing the dumb, unrepentant, egotistical things he keeps saying.
  19. Boy, didn't expect the Mormons to allow this.
  20. I'd say this is a case of Theo not knowing yet again when to quit one of "his guys," but they horsefeathering traded for Russell basically fully formed, so that's not even a horsefeathering excuse. horsefeathers THIS. horsefeathering Dum Dum-headed dork hypocrite.
  21. I’m pretty sure our revolving door leadoff spot has posted better numbers than Dexter every year since he’s left. But yes I get what you’re saying, just basic baseball intuition has me wanting a set guy there for ~145 games. We should trade for Haniger is what I’m saying. Fowler posted a .393 OBP in 2016. I'd be VERY curious to see if the Cubs' leadoff spot has topped that in the 2 full seasons since.
