    That's 2010. In 52 PA. His total career PA against LH pitchers amounts to 153. Yes, those career numbers aren't bad, but they're inflated by the sample size. He barely faced any last year and he's not very good against them this year (the first time he's seeing them regularly as a fulltime starter).

    Yeah, he's way better than that bum Soto, AMIRITE. Soto's been frustrating for a while, obviously. But Valbuena's always hitting the ball hard, he's hit lefties well, and has shown surprising power, even to the opposite field. I like him a lot more than Stewart so far. I just find perception funny. Yeah, Soto had a monstrously bad start to the year, but to see you griping about Soto one page and then fawning over Luis Valbuena the next is pretty funny. And Valbuena's hit lefties well? .231 .268 .385 .653

    Who would have guessed that Loria & Co. would try to whip up offseason enthusiasm for their new ballpark (that they didn't pay for but still stand to profit from) only to sell off their assets shortly thereafter? Pretty much everyone. Maybe I just missed it, but did they even really have all that much "hype?" Most of the stories seemed to revolve around how they DIDN'T get any of the big FA they were rumored to be in on except for Reyes.

    Was that the game when Theriot made that really stupid throw into the OF? Yup. Looking it up Marmol was actually charged with one of the runs, but he gave up 4 hits and a walk.

    Man, I was at Harden's first game, and it was insane. He strikes out 10 and leaves after 6 with a 7-0 lead...and the Cubs end up having to win it 8-7 in extras. Marmol wasn't charged with any of the runs, but he was horrendous.

    That's completely my thought. His walk totals have improved during this stretch. I don't know if he's flat out overhauling his hitting approach but if there was a season to experiment and not care how productive he currently is, it's this one. Definitely. Like I said, unless his hitting issues are health-based, I'm not concerned at all. This is a FO looking for the long term, and their dismissal of Jaramillo speaks volumes. Castro is likely always going to be an aggressive hitter because of his hitting ability, but it makes sense that they'd want to see what they can tweak or improve. This is the season to do it. Even if he doesn't have an offensive break out the rest of the year I'll consider it a success with the improved defense and baserunning plus the increased patience. The rest will come.
