  1. We just like doing silly rich Nazi things, what with us being silly rich Nazis and all.
  2. "Dear Nicolás: do you like me? I like you. The blinders you sent me fit real well. Please write back soon. PS: I am not a crackpot."
  3. Guys, Tom cracked the code and now Maduro will be his best friend and stop treating his people like absolute horsefeathers. He did it!
  4. Man, this guy could just *not* love Maduro more. Anyone wanna take bets as to how long until he dives back in on "Russia was right to invade Ukraine to save itself from NATO nazis?" This guy just can't get enough of dictators!
  5. You say literally anything but actually replying to what anyone has actually said. Pretty typical MO for someone obviously rooting for Maduro to stay in power.
  6. Good thing I was obviously talking about the Venezuelan activists instead. But you don't care because you want Maduro to stay in power.
  7. Yeah, the poll workers were ready to go with the hand counts because they, not surprisingly at all, knew Maduro would try something like this. Which is why Maduro had been trying his damndest to round up anyone who speaks out. But all of those interviews and all the footage of the protests and crackdown, it's all been faked just to make Maduro look bad and to further US interests, right? But then again you don't care because you want Maduro to stay in power.
  8. Tom...you do realize Maduro and co. aren't hiding any of this, right? That they're claiming a HIGHER number of people killed than what's being reported? That they gave it the kicky name "Operation Knock Knock," right? I mean, of course you do, since you want Maduro to stay in power. You like that they're doing it.
  9. Izarra served in Chavez government and then Maduro's until 2018: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrés_Izarra And Tom, literally no source is good enough for you. The Venezuelan poll workers who hand counted the votes, some of whom are being disappeared for speaking out? Not good enough. The Venezuelans in the streets risking their safety just to express that they don't want Maduro or don't tolerate his theft the election? Not good enough for you. If you don't want to listen to anyone from outside of the country, fine, go nuts. But you're also explicitly refusing to listen to people IN the country unless they line up exactly with what you want to hear (which is that you want Maduro to stay in power).
  10. Anyway, for literally anyone else: https://www.theguardian.com/world/article/2024/aug/14/venezuela-election-maduro It's getting worse.
  11. Like, for real, this is as simple as I can think to break it down for you: Maduro is bad for Venezuela. The vast majority of Venezuelans want him out. This is not necessarily a specific endorsement by ANYBODY of the policies you disagree with of the seemingly winning opposition party. What it speaks to is how the situation there is so desperate that the people essentially want anyone else but Maduro. That's it. It really is as basic as the people wanting Maduro gone, and the ballot is basically their only way to express or execute that since his control of the military is so absolute. Maduro knows this, which is why he is refusing the release the official voting data to anyone, ally or otherwise, and why he is cracking down so hard on anyone daring to show public opposition or protest to his "victory."
  12. Blah-blah-tankie-dee-blah. Still just making up horsefeathers to argue against. Only one of us is actually behind the will of the people here: they want Maduro gone. Pretty much their only option right now is to thread of the needle of enough of Venezuela's regional neighbors leaning on Maduro to abide by the election results since his control of the military is so absolute. If they end up wanting to give the next folks the boot as well then they should do so, be it by the ballot or the bullet. TL; DR version: if you weren't such a tankie dork you'd actually be on the side of the people and not a corrupt strongman. NEVER SIDE WITH MANAGEMENT.
  13. So, yet again, just some variation of, "they're too dumb to know what they were voting for." So altruistic and noble. And that quote is from the three countries that you put out there as "proof" that Maduro has any real support. That's their diplomatic way of saying, "Maduro, it's a real horsefeathered up look that you're putting down the boot on your own people and still refusing to release any official election records. Might want to get on that if you can, and if you can't you gotta figure where you can soft land."
