  1. His dome would split it in two.
  2. Though the image of a diabolical, cigar-chomping, robber baron-esque Reinsdorf lording over #poorTomRicketts in the CSN boardroom is pretty hilarious.
  3. OK, again, you realize the Ricketts have a 20% stake in the network, right?
  4. But it's not the same; the Cubs owners are also significantly invested in Comcast as well. Reinsdorf having a 40% stake to the Ricketts' 20% doesn't make him some kind of overlord that the station is catering to; if this was an actual issue and the Ricketts wanted it knocked off it would stop. The reality is it's just sports reporters/hosts/commentators/analysts/whatever you want to call them making fun of bad teams. They were taking just as many "shots" at the White Sox; I can't even count the number of times they started a White Sox segment with some variation of "just when you thought things couldn't get any worse..." as often as they did the same sort of thing with the Cubs. Bottom line, Comcast isn't being used as a tool to "drive people away" from the Cubs to the Sox, and even if it was that would be a terrible plan that likely would accomplish squat.
  5. Again, the talking heads on CSN "mock" all of the Chicago teams when they lose/are bad. You keep talking like they're singling out the Cubs, but they're not. And there's presentation of being objective or unbiased when you're talking about commentators/analysts; it's their job to give their opinion.
  6. That report was exactly what started the discussion about his injury on the Jay Cutler Show yesterday. Cutler immediately dismissed it and started all that negative talk. But then again Jay was very non-committal about playing in the Lions game the week leading up to it, but yesterday on the show he pretty much implied that he knew he was going to be back for that game during the bye week. The only conclusion is the organization is pushing Jay to come back, knowing he isn't ready, so he will look bad and it will help justify not bringing him back. It's ridiculous how he's screwed PR-wise regardless of what he chooses/can do.
  7. Right, Buxton is the one with the surest bet to become an all-star to me. Pretty much. I'm loving Bryant, and I hope to God Baez pans out, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if it's kinda rough for him. I'll be stunned if Buxton isn't kicking 18 kinds of ass.
  8. Buxton/Sano or Almora/Bryant? You have to choose a pair. Buxton/Sano Almora/Baez or Buxton/Sano? Buxton/Sano. Without a second thought against both pairs.
  9. I feel the same. It shows that he bases his decision on objectively derived stats rather than conventional wisdom. Yeah; while I don't necessarily agree with his decision, it's refreshing to see him spell out those kinds of reasons as to why he made his decision.
  10. So? He's just as likely to take one back as he is to run backwards and get stopped at the 5 yard line. Either way there's 0 time on the clock left after the play. Perhaps your concern is that Hester fumbles and the Ravens return it for a score but it's such an unlikely occurance it shouldn't factor into the decision to give it to Hester. No, my concern is he actually screws up and they end up with a safety as opposed to fumbling. It should be painfully obvious he's much more likely to run backwards or try something stupidly cute than to actually "take one back." Couple that with the slop and I have no problem to just wait for OT. He's not the elite player he was, plus he's an idiot.
  11. Hester is a guy who is nearly as notorious for screwing up a return as he is doing amazing things with them, so I really don't have a problem not doing something that risky when it's tied. The guy has way too much of a history of moving backwards.
  12. Is there a belief she's good looking in any setting? Back in her "crazy" days in the mid-90's.
  13. It's stunning to me the sheer number of people who claim to be Bears fans and who have no [expletive] clue how old McCown is.
  14. I'm assuming that was just because it was Drew Brees.
  15. That Jordan Mills stuff on the previous page does not bode well at all. McCown is likely going to have be scrambling for his life.
  16. Love hearing that, Bourjos is one of my favorite targets this offseason. Yeah, I'm a big Bourjos fan. Pulling that off would make me very happy.

  18. there's no such thing as a bitching prospect Bitchin': http://cdn1.sbnation.com/imported_assets/621331/benny_agbayani.jpg
  19. The Sox commentators complain about the Sox all the damn time.
  20. Agreed. I can handle another year or two of suckiness if it means some sustained success. The only way I bail is if Ozzie Guillen somehow becomes a part of this. Yes, I hate the guy that much. If that does happen, I'll see you whenever he's fired/gone/quits/is institutionalized. Why do you keep bringing up this Ozzie Guillen nonsense? It doesn't matter if he wants a job or not; they're not hiring him.
  21. You have prospect lists; I only have #poortomricketts.
  22. This is clearly not the case.
  23. Have you ever actually seen a friend's sex tape? Because, holy [expletive], I have, and it's the most hilariously awkward thing ever. Oh indeed. There's nothing funnier in the world. A buddy of mine gave one of my old roommates his laptop and din't a very good job of deleting everything; found plenty of folders of regular porn, plus a few clips of him trying to make the love with his girlfriend. He tried to get around the issue of the camera just being in one spot by constantly stopping and starting to move it around, and he was routinely posing for the camera a la Patrick Bateman trying to mix it up; she could not have seemed/looked/sounded more bored. In one of the clips his dog comes in the room and just starts barking at them; it was simultaneously the greatest and worst thing I had ever seen.
