    Probably because Aaron Rodgers is much better than Jay Cutler. Top 3 player in the NFL. He's still coming back from a major injury; it's not like being a better QB magically makes you better at healing or something. Right, but I think the rationale with the Bears was that a rusty Cutler may not be better than McCown. I don't think there's as much disagreement over the fact that a rusty Rodgers is still much better than Matt Flynn. This is true.

    Pretty sure the meatballs howling about Cutler's rustiness didn't even put that much thought into it as you did with this post.

    I like how with Cutler coming back people were screaming left and right that he'd be too rusty to start, but with Rogers there's barely any mention of the idea.

    Why not? It's not just the FO; it's also (mainly) the owners. The hope/expectations was that you'd have new money taking over a major market franchise and they'd be able to act like a big market franchise while rebuilding the farm. Agree totally. The deal the Ricketts took from Zell certainly seems to have handcuffed them and that is quite disappointing. My comments were about those of us who are blaming Theo & Co. for not being able to put winning teams on the field the past two seasons. If there are any, that is, I may have misunderstood people's comments all along... BTW, what's the gif in your sig from? Comedy Bang! Bang!: http://www.ifc.com/shows/comedy-bang-bang And yeah, personally, my frustration is much more at the owners than the FO; the FO is far from infallible, but I simply don't believe that they're willfully handcuffing themselves from using money that's actually available to them.

    Farm system rankings are about the only "measurable" aspect; until they actually start bringing these players up and they pan out or they trade some for some impact players then the main measurables are still just a lot of hoping and wishing right now.

    I don't know about that. I think it's mostly Theo's strategy and the owners are going along with it. Why would any FO willfully cut themselves off like that? That makes absolutely no sense.

    the seahawks have had 5, broncos 4. what about the seahawks compared to every other team that isn't the broncos? Plus the Broncos don't have Pete Carroll. And they're really good, yet everyone doesn't hate their coach.

    Handwringing over whether or not he's still a "humble hometown kid" is just primo meatballery, but the other main point about how it's pretty ridiculous that Rose (and/or his people) are griping about what the Bulls need to do now that he's had a catastrophic injury yet again is right on.

    Yeah, what he said; head injuries freak me out, and a headache lasting more than a day after you've hit your head is something to definitely get checked out ASAP. I think it was a combination of the banging my head a bit and coming down with something. I feel fine today, though. Eh, I'm paranoid enough about that stuff that I'd check it out, especially with the way you described it.
