  1. Guys, look at the couch in the picture; Sammy clearly has class and taste and has learned from the best how to be the best couch he can be.
  2. Really glad to see him have a 2-hit game today. He's been swinging the bat well the past week but his average has dropped. I didn't even realize his numbers had dropped so much because he's still been making such good contact. Definitely nice to take these kind of slumps from him vs. just how hopeless he looked last year.
  3. I don't think anyone here really wants Sammy as a couch in terms of expecting him to actually be able to coach well; just that it seems like a way to work him back in.
  4. Wait, "bitch" isn't censored? I see how it is, NSBB.
  5. Sammy seems to be in a really great place right now.
  6. Baez definitely needs to rock the longer hair again.

  8. I prefer to look at it as a step in the right direction. I think it serves as a message to Sammy what the organization wants him to do in order to get accepted back in the fold. To my knowledge, Sammy has never admitted any guilt or expressed any remorse about "cheating" (or been caught, to be fair). Whether that's right or not is another matter. As much as I love Sammy I doubt coaching is something he's ever wanted to do, but it's likely the best route for him to get back in the good graces of enough people so that Tom stops fearing the meatball revolution. Sorry, I was vague. I mean the contrition present in Manny's statement is something I've never heard from Sammy. Yeah, but have McGwire or Bonds said anything similar? Sammy shouldn't have to; Manny should because he was busted waaaaaaaaay after the foot was put down.

  14. [expletive], I'm jealous. Stupid Wrigley.
  15. We don't root for dirty centaurs.
  16. Just scanning the list that they could've used and I would've given their contracts to: Ellsbury, Ubaldo, Hughes, Kazmir, Anibal, & D. Murphy, and at the time I would've given the money to Upton, Bourn, and McCarthy and been made to look foolish. I was also pretty happy with the Jackson signing. Nothing to add except thanks for the reply.
  17. Coldplay stole the spotlight Travis should have gotten.
  18. TT, who is a FA that the Cubs passed or missed on that you wish they had ended up with (besides the obvious IFA's)?
  19. [expletive] yeah, Len dropping the Matthew Sweet.
