    i'm very excited about this year for the Kings. they had a very, very nice off-season. I think there's a chance that potential turns into production this year. playoff spot *might* not be out of the question, though I would still bet on them missing. goaltending still needs a lot of work, though.

    he also double-switched out his second best hitter earlier in the game. it's not like he's cliff floyd out there where his bat isn't a huge huge asset, braun's a soap dropping monster with the bat.

    so uh. you're going down. this is the last big mistake you'll ever make. you suuuuuck, i hate your guts. etc etc. somehow i made the finals despite not paying attentiont to my team until the last week or so. i had chase utley sitting on the bench with rickie weeks starting for pretty much the whole year.

    yeah i've been able to watch archived games all year. i bought gameday audio, i didn't know i was getting the archived games too. i ended up watching the whole game when i got home.

    first practice of my first tee ball team ever and i hit our best player in the back of the head on a throw to first. i made up for it in the championship game though. 2 grand slams! i retired on a high note. on the second grand slam my shoe came off while i was rounding third. there were no fences, so it was still a live play. i tried to put my shoe back on. in a teachers/students softball game in fifth grade, i rolled one to short, the shortstop threw it away, and i got picked off in a run-down between first and second.

    I've been to one Z game and he gave up a 2-run HR to Matt Cain. i've been to one Z game. he hit a home run and dempster blew it in the 9th. good game. Derrek Lee and Juan Pierre hit home runs the next day. better game.

    27 year olds with theriot's MiL track record and skillset don't really improve very much on what he's done. he's probably a 275 hitter with decent plate discipline, no power, and average defensive skills.

    guys on the 60-day DL don't count against the 40-man IIRC. But there is no 60-day DL during the offseason so he'd cost a 40-man spot then. right, i didn't see the "off-season" part.

    he has blown 6 games. 2 of them came after losing the job to capps. he also recorded another loss but i don't think he blew the lead in that game.

    Thats a pretty shocking statement, but I just looked at some stats and...well....its a possibility. Capps is 17-19 in save opportunites; the rest of the team is 14-29 Thats fifteen blown saves. If Capps could have saved 13 of those... They'd lead the division by a game and a half. Now obviously, that's a lot of what if's...but its interesting to think about. you can blow saves before the 9th inning, so that's a flawed way of looking at things. Solomon Torres only blew like 3 saves while he was the closer (pretty much the first two months of the year). If Matt Capps was their closer, and if Jason Bay performed as expected, and if Zach Duke wasn't terrible, and if they didn't have a revolving door of nothing in place of a 5th starter, they might be contending within the division.

    Pineiro had a game score of 54. he had like a 32 game score after 3 innings. really should've scored more runs... Marshall's was 35.

    Depends on the reactions of the runners. Imagine three flyballs hit to someone like Soriano that just barely drops in front of him (causing the runners to hold until the drop), but Soriano immediately grabs the ball and guns it to home for the out. that would still be a fielder's choice, I think. you see that kind of play at 2nd fairly often.
