My favorite thing about playing crummy teams with unsustainable things like "7-0 in one run games" is that that stuff never ever seems to normalize against us
To be clear, Levis never said anything as far as we know. BigbadB is referring to a post I made on page 2 where his odds to go #1 had suddenly spiked (went from 50/1 to 4/1 or something overnight) because some guy on Reddit claimed Levis was telling his people Carolina was taking him first.
I troll Zillow occasionally and I swear to God I wish I could filter out any listings that say "as is", "investment", "TLC", "project" or anything related.
So the latest rumors involved some silly Reddit post by (as far as we know) a random jackwagon claiming Will Levis had told friends he was the #1 pick. Can't wait to not worry about that in a few hours. I'm extremely confident in Bryce Young. The only thing anyone seems to have against him is that he might get hurt when he's only missed one game in his entire football career to date. Not a good enough reason not to pick someone, IMO.
I Googled 'Arrieta perfect game bid' and a YouTube clip from 2014 came up when he took one into the 7th against the Reds. I don't think he ever got closer than that.
ETA - He apparently also had one into the 7th against Pittsburgh once.
I don't remember everything, especially anymore, but I'm pretty sure no Cub since I've been following the team (close to 25 years) has taken a perfect game this far.
