  1. Hahahahaha the Braves throw at him on the 1st pitch
  2. Murton should always play ahead of Jones.
  3. If we pull within 4 I'm officially going to go from cautiously optimistic to dangerously invested.
  4. Ryan put the Braves in the http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e67/ndistops/Dumpster.jpg And Rich Hill is awesome
  5. Easily. A guy who puts up the numbers he has in the 4 seasons with the Cubs AND who leaves probably $40m on the table to resign here deserves more respect that he gets. DLee is my favorite current Cub, but what happened last offseason immediately put Aramis right there with him. Doesn't hurt that he's been really good this season.
  6. I won't be at that game, but I'd probably have to hold on to the ball if I were the lucky one. I would absolutely bring a spare ball to throw back though.
  7. I expect Fonzie will drop to the 4 spot until ARam comes back. Theriot will probably lead off with DeRosa hitting 2nd against lefties and Pie against righties I imagine. It's going to be a really weird lineup the next few days, in short.
  8. I like my odds against illiniguy simply because I'm pretty ubiquitous on this board. I'm totally on board with this idea BTW, especially since there doesn't seem to be anyone taking it personally. When should we kick it off?
  9. October, far and away. I'm addicted to the baseball playoffs every year, plus the two footballs equals an easy choice. March, April and September are good ones too.
  10. Doesn't he? His age is listed on my interface and I believe only Premium members can put their birthdate in. Maybe if he ever plays for the Panthers. :D
  11. Checking in to say it was nice to see vintage Z today (6 2/3 IP 2R and 2 hits at the plate).
  12. Frankly, I'd be worried to view the results of mine
  13. It's hard to criticize Justin Jones considering the Cubs got Mientkewicz for him to spark the Nomar/Murton deal.
  14. I thought Vargas owns us. He doesn't. I think the Cubs win this one.
  15. The frosting will be taken off his postgame boxes of Krispy Kreme for 2 games as punishment.
  16. How could anyone think Koyie Hill was playing RF?
  17. I don't care if we can't get anything of value for Jones. If we can just get someone to pick him up, that's enough for me.
  18. +1 - 10 I love Steve Stone. I'm not a huge Stone fan, but he's a solid baseball analyst when he's not on a Cubs rant.
  19. He gets about 80 percent of the blame for Game 6 IMO, with Prior getting about 10, Alou getting about 5, the fans as a whole getting about 4, and Bartman perhaps 1. But, he hit three game-winning home runs in 2003. Without those dingers, the Cubs might not even make the playoffs (we won the division by 1 game).
  20. Cubs sweep this series then lose their next 7 afterwards.
  21. The Cubs have been on, as Wojo put it, some sort of double-secret probation with MLB's umpires for at least three years. Frankly it's pissing me off.
  22. Forgot to mention another favorite - Cubs fall behind early, crawl back slowly but surely, tie the game, and immediately give up 2 or 3 runs to lose.
  23. I don't understand why Dusty isn't unanimous. He destroyed Mark Prior, finished off Kerry Wood, and probably destroyed Carlos Zambrano (although he took longer).
  24. LaTroy Hawkins for me, and it's not even remotely close.
  25. The Cubs would look at playing Pie everyday as a concession of the season and would platoon him with the guy with better numbers vs LHP. I wouldn't, they do. Sorry for the confusion.
