  1. Really? They couldn't? Alfonseca, Perez, Blanco, Rusch There's plenty of reason to think they, or more specifically Jim Hendry, would be this stupid. Trachsel's option is for like twice as much as those guys'. Hendry wasn't dumb enough to keep Izturis at that rate (I think his option was 4.15M or something for 08) and I can't believe he'll be dumb enough to keep Trachsel.
  2. I'll refrain from going insane until I see official word, simply because there is no possible way the Cubs could be dumb enough to do this. Ward's option is a no-brainer. I know it'll never happen but boy would I love to see him reproduce his 2007.
  3. Tampa for some reason has six days in a row listed of playing the Cubs, so we're assuming that they haven't decided which trio of the two is the real series.
  4. Plz win Mizzou I need a bandwagon to jump on after my Kentucky stay ended in fiery death
  5. I love this week. For some reason my delusional brethren are spending more time debating whether to rush the field after ND beats BC (with most people saying that BC doesn't matter enough to rush the field for) than whether they actually will beat them, and here we sit at 13.5-point underdogs.
  6. I'm major anxious for the Predictions Contest results. :D
  7. Great, GREAT news. As my roommate keeps telling me, if it comes out that Cuban's made the biggest bid and he gets screwed out of owning the team, there'd be a fan uproar against Selig. I don't know if I've ever wanted anything in sports, short of a title, as much as I want Cuban owning this team.
  8. That is the dumbest thing ever written. Someone please send it to Fire Joe Morgan, they'd have a field day.
  9. Pat Dillingham was a walk-on 2nd string QB for ND in Ty's first year. He was horrible. Though you wouldn't have known it from the results thanks to Arnaz Battle (MSU game) and the defense (Stanford game).
  10. ND +22 was pretty ridiculous. Regardless of your opinion of Notre Dame, to make them a bigger underdog against UCLA than against Purdue (especially after ND actually looked decent for a half against the Boilers) was sort of silly. That said, Matt Ryan is a giant leap up from Ben Olson, let alone that hyphenated kid they tossed in after Olson was knocked out of the game. I'd be stunned if they beat BC, though I do expect them to keep it marginally close (roughly as close as the Purdue game).
  11. I'm scared of Western Kentucky. They scored 87 on some crap team earlier this year. If you're capable of dropping that much under any circumstances you can tear apart the Cardinals' defense.
  12. FSN Missouri-Oklahoma? Lame. I don't get that channel. Crappy BC teams have ruined ND's seasons at least twice before (1993 and 2002). Now it's our chance to do the same.

  14. USC drops 8 spots for losing to Stanford at home, Wisconsin drops 14 for losing to Illinois on the road. Now, I don't think Wisconsin's very good and haven't all year, but what the eff is that.
  15. This one hurt more, because I was 16 in 2003 and stupidly thought we'd be making our way back all the time. This year I don't have that same feeling about the future. So, 2007 hurt more but only because I was a dumb kid in 2003.
  16. Even when he messes up, I still love this guy. He might be my favorite Cub.
  17. With Cleveland winning it all. If every fanbase but us is going to get their title, then we might as well get on with it.
  18. Insulting. Jenna Fischer is waayyy gorgeous.
  19. I met him sober, and I sorta figured he'd be hilarious drunk.
  20. Notre Dame will probably be ranked in the top 25 too since they have a win. Keener beat you to that version of the ludicriously lame, played-out, absolutely-no-merit-to-it-at-all ND joke, but I don't care because at least people are making fun of us for having a WIN.
  21. This game is immensely entertaining.
  22. Maurice Crum with 2 fumble recoveries, 2 picks and a TD. As Don Criqui said, "He's having a career tonight." :)
  23. Ladies and gentlemen, Notre Dame finally has a win!!!!! Thank you, random UCLA walk-on QB and Karl Dorrell. Course, the buzzsaw is back next week with (going to be) top-5 team Boston College, but I can enjoy this for now. :)
  24. My God, what the hell is going on out there? UCLA is playing a third string, walk-on redshirt freshman QB with backup RBs. Still no reason to be losing. Ack I just saw the update. Horrible turnover. Should know the only way ND gets a win will be when a team hands it to them. That won't be the only way ND will get a win. They are getting better every game, and should have a good shot to win each of their last 4 games legitimately. The next two weeks are going to be rough though. The way freshman keep stepping up for ND every week though, next year should be much better. They won't be great, but they should be above average next year the way players are developing. Doesn't matter, UCLA would be up by double digits if Cowan or Olson were playing. You're up because you're facing a third string walk-on who has fumbled a 40-yard TD and thrown a pick that was returned to the 5. I'm trying to figure out where in CCP's post he disputed that point, without any success.
  25. HOLY CRAP NOTRE DAME FUMBLE RETURN FOR TD 20-6 NOTRE DAME
