Boo-hoo. We're 7-0. You're not. Advantage Jayhawks. And you've played crap teams, that's why you're 7-0. Come on, you know that kU isn't near as good as their ranking indicates they are. hard to say, but road wins against K-State and Colorado are pretty solid wins. I do think that Mizzou is one of the top 10 teams in the country. It's more impressive that kU beat them on the road than if they would have done it at home, sure. But I'm not overly impressed with a team who's two biggest wins on the year have been against teams that are 4-4 and 4-3. We've already dominated two Top 25 teams this year; the only game that kU has against a Top 25 team is the last week of the season -- against us. I hope you're not counting Nebraska, who's been exposed as an average football team, as a top 25 team.

I will love this one week of being in 1st place by ourselves before the Colts hand us our lunch next week.

PSU +4 on madduxsports.com - seems low but OSU is non-dominant enough that things could turn in PSU's favor. Also of note, Ball State +13.5 against Illinois, which is right around what I expect the margin to be.

Oh, you would think so. :wink: I think Illinois will win this game as well, though Ball State has a tendency to decide to actually play to their significant level of talent when they play these games. It should be a pretty close one unless we play as bad as we did last week. I still can't believe they got out of Kalamazoo with a win as sloppy as they played. And yeah, this week will be nuts. I'd be curious to know when the last time was that every top 10 team in action was playing another ranked team. Might never have happened.

Ball State pulled off a 27-23 win over WMU in which they led for about 2 of 60 minutes of the game. They took a 20-16 lead at one point that lasted for 2 plays of the next drive and then took the lead for good with about a minute to go. Exciting, though not well-played, game. And to be perfectly fair, the refs set up our game-winning drive by screwing WMU out of a full yard that cost them a 1st down with about 4 1/2 minutes to play, forcing a punt. BSU is now responsible for half of Bill Cubit's 4 home defeats in what is now his 3rd year as Western Michigan coach.

At least in that scenario Aramis would be hustling.

Which reminds me, it came out back in February, but I'm not sure how much it's known nationally - Notre Dame will be wearing throwback green jerseys tomorrow to honor the 30th anniversary of the original green jersey game/1977 national title team. My honest opinion is that Chip Caray makes a much better national announcer than a team announcer. He's excitable, fairly knowledgeable and is pretty good at making baseball palatable to the non-diehard baseball fan. Joe Buck is only one of those three. Chip is much better.

A win gives BSU 5 wins with two near-certain wins left on the schedule (Toledo and NIU, who've both been bad), and since 7 wins in the MAC will be plenty to get the 3rd bowl tie-in, it would put the Cards in great position. A loss would put BSU in a position where they'd have to beat Illinois or IU to get to 7, and I don't like our odds in either of those games. Very important game for Ball State.

I've been thinking about it, and I've decided that 22 is the amount of points you would have to give me before I would consider wagering on Notre Dame aganst USC, and even then only because the Trojans have played such weak football their last three games.

Losing to the 15 team in the nation now is only a "decent loss"? I dont care when IL loss was, the reason Michigan is ranked and Il isnt is because they are Michigan, and Illinois is Illinois. Id think its pretty simple. Who has Michigan beaten? Illinois has beaten the then #5 team Wisconsin, and a top 20 team at the time in Penn State. At the time, Notre Dame's 2005 win over Michigan was a road win over a top 5 team and by the end of the year everyone was trashing it because Michigan lost 5 games. You can't change the criteria for a good win to fit your team. Wisconsin's not very good as they've proven in their ugly wins over The Citadel and Iowa plus their 2 losses, and Penn State isn't either. Although they were ranked higher when Michigan beat them than when you did, so I guess that was an impressive win. If Illinois had won five straight and Michigan had just dropped a game to a team without a league win in over a year, you'd be looking at the reverse situation, there's not a doubt about it. And yes, as Missouri has no win better than a neutral-site win over an unranked team (Nebraska just got steamrolled at home by Oklahoma State and barely squeaked by the BSU Cardinals, so it's safe to say they aren't all that good either), it's 'only' a decent loss. Illinois has one decent loss (Missouri) and one awful loss (Iowa). Michigan has one decent loss made less decent by how crappy they played (Oregon) and one awful loss made more awful by the fact that the opponent plays in a lower division (App State). Illinois is lower ranked because their last loss was last week and Michigan's last loss was Sept. 9th. That's why. I'd think it's pretty simple.
