  1. How do the playoff look? Will the Cubs face the winner in the west or possibly the wild card team? It seems unavoidable at this point that the Cubs will face a West team. Arizona is the team we'd play right now since the Padres lead the wildcard. If the Phillies were to get the wild card, the Cubs would play the Mets, but it's highly unlikely. Either matchup doesn't inspire confidence.
  2. you should change the other one Florida is favored by 18.5... it's a mismatch. odds don't mean jack when it comes to these sorts of things. Odds are about as unscientific as you can get....trusting people's opinions lol! Auburn got pwned by South Florida at home and lost to Mississippi State at home. As the SEC goes, this is about as big a mismatch as can be.
  3. CHARLIE WEIS IS FAT LOLZ SO ORIGINAL DID YOU KNOW JOE PATERNO IS OLD AND NICK SABAN DOESN'T STAY IN JOBS LONG AND URBAN MEYER LIKES TO STEAL RECRUITS, LET'S ALL MAKE COOL ORIGINAL JOKES ABOUT THEM TOO
  4. People are pretty split on Santo. Nobody thinks he's a good announcer per say, but many people enjoy his fan-like take on the game. You have to realize that you're not going to get any analysis with him, or any real insight, but you'll get somebody invested into the team. Kinda like watching the game with you crazy uncle. Pat Hughes works wonders to make Ron tolerable. With an average PBP man, Ron would be really annoying to Cubs fans too I think. Pat Hughes should make it to the Hall of Fame just for his work with Ron. Pat makes Ron a lot better than he would be otherwise because he plays off of Ron incredibly well.
  5. I really would prefer the Cubs clinch by winning a game as opposed to Brewers losing a game, for the same reason I'd switch to GA to listen to Pat/Ron - I want Cubs announcers to call it. That said, I ain't gonna be too picky.
  6. That royal blue one is freaking beautiful.
  7. My rules for the Cubs: Division - t-shirt Pennant - t-shirt, pennant, some other stuff WS - absolutely every piece of Cubs merchandise available
  8. Why not Len? Does he not have the same clout as Brenly? They work well together as a team. There's really no excuse for Len not announcing. He's a hell of a lot better than most of the idiots doing national games. *cough*brenneman*cough*
  9. Alright, I changed it. I'm still not sure what to make of Illinois. Then again I guess I should be at least as unsure what to make of Penn State.
  10. Yeah, that's a good point. It would suck to have to listen to the Florida announcers call it. I'd probably switch to Gameday Audio for the 9th just for that reason.
  11. I believe the Game 4 possible times are at 12, 4 and 8. Not sure about Saturday.
  12. One problem with that is them showing hits/home runs from the Cubs-Marlins series when the Cubs got swept. Aren't these supposed to be positive memories? One of those clips is definitely from the NSBB day game, which I thought really weird.

  14. Awwww. I just saw Houston Theriot. Adorable freakin kid.
  15. Omg omg omg omg omg omg omg Too much excitement going. The Brewers are folding like a house of cards - just like I thought they would. But I couldn't have imagined the Cubs coming out and just POUNDING three lefties in a row. 30 runs in 3 games. Absolutely freaking ridiculous. This team's on a mission.
  16. I'd just like to note that while it's great that the Cubs are winning, I am beyond incensed that I bench McNabb after two terrible weeks in fantasy, trade Kevin Curtis away after being practically nonexistent so far, and they both absolutely freaking explode.
  17. I couldn't because of other thing so I had a friend of mine try. No dice. I'm freaking crushed.
  18. I can say for sure that I wouldn't have because I've rooted against them 3 years in a row! But thanks a ton Faceman. Posts like this are why it's so much easier to take the Cardinals than the Brewers.
  19. Maybe next year if he keeps playing like that on defense, he'll force people to take notice. But I doubt they will.
  20. Yeah, I was going to ask if anyone had 2 to Game 4, but at those prices, I simply can't afford them. My friend didn't get in. Stupid Cubs.com doing this on a Sunday morning. :(
  21. Aramis Lee Good Zambrano Marmol Lilly Hon. Mention: DeRosa, Dempster, Soriano, Jones, Ward
  22. I imagine we'd throw the top 4 out - but who knows?
  23. Aramis is a fantastic player. I can't get over how lucky we are that the Cubs are paying him much less than market value the next 5 years. It's a treat to watch him hit.
  24. 10-7 Iowa. Humoring me for a second, if Iowa wins, the unbeaten Big Ten teams, one week into conference play, will be: Purdue (wins: Toledo, E. Illinois, C. Michigan, Minnesota) Ohio State (wins: Youngstown St, Akron, Washington, Northwestern) Michigan State (no conference games yet) (wins: UAB, Bowling Green, Pitt, ND) And that's it. Geez.
