  1. Some TV times have been updated.
  2. My roommate and I were discussing this yesterday, and not only can you make the case that the best 5 players in America are all freshmen, you could also fit them all into a semitraditional starting five if you wanted. PG Rose SG Gordon SF Mayo PF Beasley C Love I'd take that fivesome over a few NBA teams.
  3. 6'5" Anthony Newell, the tallest player on Ball State's team, goes down with a foot injury the day before 7'2" Roy Hibbert and Georgetown comes to play. I predict 55 points for Hibbert and Ball State losing by at least that margin.
  4. UCLA/MSU is a really fun game. Mbah a Moute with a huge 3 to give UCLA its 1st lead with 28.6 to play.
  5. I know, but Matt Holliday should've been clear enough.
  6. Curtis Granderson does everything (except play SS) better than Jimmy Rollins, and I didn't hear anyone jonesing for him in the AL. Higher AVG, higher OBP, higher SLG, more walks (despite over 100 fewer PA's), just as many doubles, more triples, 17 fewer runs (again, over 100 fewer PA's), etc. etc.
  7. Why? Because Weis acted like a classless child preseason with his recruiting sour grapes and allegations and now Illinois fan is reveling in ND's utter crapness? That's just karma, son. I'm pretty sure you're kidding, but stealing Arrelious Benn from us has very little to do with it, they just talk waaaay too much. For instance, this ludicrous Illinois/Florida debate. I understand their point that Florida strictly on paper isn't that much better than Illinois but they would destroy the Illini in a game, and everyone seems to think Juice, who has now had one good passing game this season, would shred the UF defense. No offense, but Notre Dame fans have always been the most intolerable (usually without any cause to be) in the entire realm of college sports. None should be allowed to critique the fans of other teams. Ever. You haven't been around enough Michigan fans. FWIW, my roommate, a Purdue fan who grew up in West Lafayette, always tells me that his family sold their lawn for tailgating road fans when the Boilers hosted games and he says that UM fans were pretty nice while OSU fans were truly prickish.

I'd like to think of myself as a reasonable fan (there are plenty on here that would likely disagree), and I think any reasonable fan can critique other fans regardless of affiliation. I don't think anyone can dispute the point that ND fans are the worst (just because there are more of them than any other, thereby increasing the amount of idiots) but I'm pretty sure the question meant on NSBB.

I thought that was implicit. I don't know any other Illinois fans to compare them to, so of course that's all I am doing.

  11. Georgia Tech 70, Notre Dame 69. The only good thing I had going in sports is officially an NIT-caliber team.
  12. The obvious answer is Illinois.
  13. Eckstein is literally the only SS on the market worth anything. He'll get it. Hendry will probably give it to him. How about an Eckstein/Theriot middle-infield? I'd rather pay Theriot 350K than Eckstein 9M.
  14. I'm so beyond jacked for Georgetown coming to Ball State on Wednesday. Not sure what the student turnout will be since the dorms will be closed, but for the first 5 minutes (until the game's pretty much in hand, in other words) it'll be as intense as anything I've ever seen.
  15. Was it both? I heard it was just KU's AD moving this year's game for some extra ca$h. It's worth noting that I was going to go home Saturday night, but I don't want to miss this game. Therefore I am hanging around until Sunday afternoon. I'm excited to watch.
  16. Baylor 68, Notre Dame 64. I'm not even in the mood to discuss it. Georgia Tech tomorrow in the Paradise Jam consolation game.
  17. Sigh. We choked, plain and simple. You guys looked pretty good in the 2nd half. You definitely won't win 9 games again this season, in my estimation.
  18. Someone mentioned being horrified at foul balls down the LF line. We've got you covered.
  19. I hope/think ND will beat Stanford. They finally looked a little like the team I expected at the start of the year in the last 32 minutes of Saturday's game. Hopefully they can springboard into 08 with a W. If Ball State loses to NIU and blows a bowl game...oh boy.
  20. :( The convenient stereotypes of winning football games? Of not shooting yourself in the foot? Of not bringing in a walk-on 3rd string QB and telling him to win the game?
  21. Illinois (4 pm) UL Monroe at UL Lafayette (7 pm)
  22. It lost the credibility years ago for me due to the regional bias and ignorance of the writers who vote. See last year, when McFadden finished 2nd even though he missed the most important game of the year (after getting hurt in a bar fight, no less)
  23. Tebow will and should win it.
  24. We beat you by 14, Duke by 21, but with the HFA difference, you're probably right...about as good as Duke. :D
  25. 17 point spreads to me are mismatch scores. One team's pretty clearly better most of the time in that scenario.
