  1. Okay, let's assume the Fighting Willinghams win this game (of all the top teams losing, this is the most surprising to me): NC - OSU v. LSU (for all the reasons listed above) Locked-in picks: Orange - Va Tech Rose - USC Fiesta - Oklahoma At-large picks: Rose 1st (losing OSU), Sugar 2nd (losing LSU), Fiesta, Orange, Sugar Rose picks Illinois, assumedly, to preserve the Big 10/Pac-10 matchup. Sugar picks Georgia (auto-bid) since they're a semilocal team and will travel well. Fiesta is the really big question - they can pick between Arizona State, Kansas (auto-bid), Boston College and Clemson to face Oklahoma. If I had a wild guess I'd say they'd take ASU (local), leaving the Orange picking Kansas. The Sugar takes Clemson or Boston College (I'd assume BC if they're eligible). Rose: Illinois vs. USC Sugar: Georgia vs. Boston College Fiesta: Oklahoma vs. Arizona State Orange: Va Tech vs. Kansas
  2. Do you actually want to see Ohio State in the title game? I think he wants to see LSU in the title game.
  3. ND dispatches another crap team, 76-65 over Eastern Michigan. Tuesday is the most important game of the season, as the Irish need to beat Kansas State or be 0-3 against their only half-decent OOC opponents.
  4. And Columbus and Blacksburg/Athens/Baton Rouge rejoice
  5. Chase is playing right? Sportsline just had Tommy Saunders throwing two passes on Missouri's first drive
  6. Well, since the networks won't air, I'm stuck with Pitt/WVU. Exciting.
  7. If only it was also true for me. Looks like there have been sleet storms in the area and all the networks are knocked out. I'll be REALLY pissed if I miss the OU/Mizzou game.
  8. Ive got ABC but no CBS. Is this cause of the ice storm? I have no idea, but there's no ice here - maybe closer to Indy something happened?
  9. CBS and ABC are the only two stations on my TV not working. You've gotta be kidding.
  10. A couple of names that won't get consideration but just to throw them out there: UCF's Kevin Smith, who will finish 2007 with the 2nd most single-season rushing yards total in NCAA football history behind only Barry Sanders CMU's Dan LeFevour, who has more rushing and passing yards than Tim Tebow and today joined Vince Young as the only 3,000/1,000 QBs in college football history
  11. Central Michigan pastes Miami (OH) and Ball State will play Rutgers in the International Bowl! :D I'll start a bowl thread tomorrow - all the bids should be finalized by then.
  12. This might be the easiest division title the Cubs will ever have a chance to win.
  13. What a robbery for the Nats. Church is pretty decent, but Schneider hasn't had an OPS+ above 100 since 2002.
  14. I can't stand to say it, because I think Mizzou in the title game would be fun as hell and would possibly lead to NSBB anarchy, but if Miami beats CMU in the MAC title game, I'll be forced to root against Mizzou so that Ball State can get in a bowl. It sucks.
  15. Carolina/SF will be one of the all-time stinkbombs. The Panthers haven't won at home in over a year (7 straight now), and if they can't beat this team they may never win in Charlotte again.
  16. Good for the NCAA; that's exactly what I think the ruling should be. I have no trouble with Miami getting a bowl bid as long as the MAC teams with winning records also get in, but not if one of them would be left out. Go CMU! If Miami does win do all of the outcomes you mentioned need to occur, or just one of them? All of them could occur (although I don't think that would be likely), but I'd be surprised if at least one of them didn't happen. If nothing else, ASU should beat Arizona. I believe all of them would need to occur. The last two for sure need to occur. Oklahoma beating Mizzou would help too, as that would likely knock Illinois into the Rose and open up another at-large slot (Purdue would slide into the Big Ten's last bowl tie-in)
  17. BSU plays another decent game, but St. Joseph's hits a ton of 3's and beats us 74-63. 0-5, but it's unfortunate because they deserve a W.
  18. ND doesn't play an SEC team this year, which is why I hadn't thought about it. Odd.
  19. Come on now, we beat them and they cried and quit, you can do the same. I read that the BE is going to have the same type of thing with the SEC. I heard it was going to be the Big 12, but I'd rather you be right.
  20. Good news for Ball State - Miami's waiver was denied. If they lose to CMU, they will still be bowl-eligible, but all the winning teams have to be chosen before them, meaning Ball State would slide into the International Bowl in Toronto. Now if they win, we're screwed (Miami, CMU and Bowling Green at 8-4 get bids first) unless - Rutgers beats Louisville (making L-Ville ineligible for a bowl) - ASU beats Arizona (making Arizona ineligible for a bowl) - Washington beats Hawaii (opening up another at-large bid in the lower bowls) But good to see that the NCAA has some sense.
  21. ND pounds Colgate. Yawn. Nothing really matters until Kansas State a week from tomorrow. That pretty much determines whether the Irish will need to completely own the Big East to have a chance of making the tournament.
  22. They are, says the GameDay website: http://sports.espn.go.com/espntv/espnMicrosite?showID=FBCG Z-O-U!!! Ahaahaha three times in one year. Wow. Remember last year when we got chastised on this board for even suggesting that Game Day would ever do a Mizzou game? Now they will have for three times. In other news, I just got a ticket to the National Championship game if Mizzou goes. Ahahahahah VERY EXCITED!!!! Try not to get shot or mugged in the Big Nasty. I remember getting this advice last January. I wasn't, but ND was. Hopefully you Mizzou guys have better luck.
  23. Marry her. Now. That's incredible. Go Mizzou.
  24. good to see that the bcs conferences will oblige them next year... would've been fun to see hawai'i face those teams this year with colt brennan. It'll be good for my schadenfreude organ to watch former ND defensive coordinator Kent Baer pathetically attempt to devise a strategy to stop Hawaii's offense this week. And to see Ty and company fall to 4-8.
  25. <3 Wood. Now, let's make it so you don't have to take a 1-year deal next time, shall we? :)
