Sigh. We choked, plain and simple. You guys looked pretty good in the 2nd half. You definitely won't win 9 games again this season, in my estimation.

I hope/think ND will beat Stanford. They finally looked a little like the team I expected at the start of the year in the last 32 minutes of Saturday's game. Hopefully they can springboard into 08 with a W. If Ball State loses to NIU and blows a bowl game...oh boy.

It lost the credibility years ago for me due to the regional bias and ignorance of the writers who vote. See last year, when McFadden finished 2nd even though he missed the most important game of the year (after getting hurt in a bar fight, no less) -

We beat you by 14, Duke by 21, but with the HFA difference, you're probably right...about as good as Duke. :D

17 point spreads to me are mismatch scores. One team's pretty clearly better most of the time in that scenario.

Notre Dame 76, Monmouth 33...wow. Outscored them 39-8 in the second half. Next up: Baylor on Sunday night for round 2. Winthrop really needs to beat GT so we can get a piece of them in the final.

I wouldn't get too cocky we (UIC) are pretty good... we've already beat Bradley. crap, we're getting killed by Winthrop at the moment. I'm not cocky, my smart-ass comment was more directed at our athletic department that refuses to let us play a regularly scheduled game with a good team this year (other than Kansas State). I really want to play Winthrop. I want revenge on them.

ND will continue their buzzsaw non-conference schedule tonight at the Paradise Jam tournament, which features such powerhouses as Georgia Tech, UIC, Baylor, Wichita State and tonight's Irish opponent, Monmouth.

Your guess is correct. The Big Ten has the dumbest tiebreaker in the history of the world, that of whoever has gone the longest without one gets the BCS bid in a tie. I have no ties to Illinois, but little would make me happier than the UM/OSU game being meaningless.
