Add to that that our second best bat didn't contribute much of anything until here recently either.I'm assuming you're talking about Aramis, who hasn't been great, but has reached base in every game we've played.

Basically everyone had NO out by the end of round 2. I've never understood why no one thinks they'll get to the West Finals and I definitely don't get it right now.

Based on the way people talk about the situation around here, and his slump after the HGH stuff at the end of last year, it sounds like the Cards are still very concerned about his mental state and there's just about no way they would try to put him on the mound, even in a blowout situation for a couple of batters. I just think they are so afraid of what being back on the mound might do to him there's no way they would take a chance on screwing up all the progress he's made at the plate. That's kind of what we figured. They totally should, but LaRussa especially would never do that unless he volunteered. Loves that quitter like a son. For what it's worth, as long as he continues to destroy all logical expectations for his performance, I wouldn't risk doing anything to mess it up either.

I still really doubt that the pitching and offense will keep playing this well. I do too, and I just hope we're not still saying this in early August.
