  1. A couple years ago, I decided: Wrigley East: PNC Wrigley West: Coors Wrigley South: Turner Wrigley North: Miller The GAB needs its own place on that map at some point, I'm working on the theory.
  2. Remember the good old days when the Bulls would sweep playoff series? Or play in them?
  3. Arizona wins so the Cubs are still relegated to 2nd best record in the majors for the time being.
  4. Add to that that our second best bat didn't contribute much of anything until here recently either.I'm assuming you're talking about Aramis, who hasn't been great, but has reached base in every game we've played.
  5. Holy crap, that Paul to Chandler spinning alley-oop was sick.
  6. Basically everyone had NO out by the end of round 2. I've never understood why no one thinks they'll get to the West Finals and I definitely don't get it right now.
  7. This will be the game thread, so to speak. I really want Mendenhall. That said Carolina will probably follow Mel Kiper's advice and take Ryan Clady from Boise State or some other equally boring pick.
  8. Len said on the broadcast that 1975 was the Cubs' last 14-6 start.
  9. Florida State players in trouble?? No freaking way!!!!
  10. Based on the way people talk about the situation around here, and his slump after the HGH stuff at the end of last year, it sounds like the Cards are still very concerned about his mental state and there's just about no way they would try to put him on the mound, even in a blowout situation for a couple of batters. I just think they are so afraid of what being back on the mound might do to him there's no way they would take a chance on screwing up all the progress he's made at the plate. That's kind of what we figured. They totally should, but LaRussa especially would never do that unless he volunteered. Loves that quitter like a son. For what it's worth, as long as he continues to destroy all logical expectations for his performance, I wouldn't risk doing anything to mess it up either.
  11. I still really doubt that the pitching and offense will keep playing this well. I do too, and I just hope we're not still saying this in early August.
  12. Screw it. Let's sweep another team. Go One-Pitch Rich!!!
  13. The Dusty years. We all deserve this. 41 runs in 4 games and 10 wins in 11 games. Absolutely mind-blowing.
  14. Who would've thought we'd SCORE 15 runs???
  15. Dear lord, this team is a machine. FORTY-ONE runs in the last four games now.
  16. RONNY CEDENO GRAND SLAM. HAVE MY BABIES.
  17. Good pitch, unfortunately brought out classic Ronny.
  18. The last time TLR made that stupid a decision, he was asleep at a green light.
  19. the cardinals always have guys with funny names. remember tripp cromer? Stubby Clapp.
  20. No hits but they still made him work. Good stuff. Lilly will probably start the 6th whether it's smart or not.
  21. Sets up nicely for another big Ronny hit.
