  1. Why am I not surprised that the Cardinals score 10 in their first game without Pujols and we're getting shut down without Soriano? I know, Tim Hudson is better than Cueto, Braves better than Reds, sample size, blah blah. I know I'm being irrational.
  2. I daresay if we can get that hardworking white boy up with men on all three bases that we will be in brilliant shape!
  3. Oh heavens! They just showed that base hit once again!
  4. I sure wouldn't mind taking her up to Lover's Hill.
  5. No matter what country that guy is from, I like his name. I believe it's spelled Giovanni Soetoe.
  6. Good lord, that Asian man has an obscenity in his name!! How dare he!
  7. We have two Cubans and a Jap batting this inning? What is P.K. Wrigley thinking???
  8. Now I know how everyone else feels when I'm still doing the "XXX just homered" game three innings after everyone else is tired of it. Sit on it.
  9. I am laughing way too hard at these comments.
  10. Good sir, I'd say Timothy Hudson deserves a Golden Glove award for that play he just made.
  11. Two black guys in the lineup too. Integrating baseball will destroy our grand old game!
  12. I prefer that DiMaggio guy in New York. More MVP's dude! :^o
  13. I assume B&W? Awful. Is it at least in HD? I dunno. I'm (relatively) poor. Plus, maybe it's my glasses, but HD always looks fuzzy to me. It's either your glasses or you're watching standard definition on an HDTV. Real HD broadcasts are crystal clear.
  14. Interesting. Everybody stays the same except Lou gets his speedy lefty leadoff guy in left instead of Soriano, even if he's no left fielder. Meh. I don't like EPatt leading off. Fukudome and DeRosa would be much much better leadoff candidates.
  15. Seriously, when Pujols went down, I knew something bad would happen, and of course it's an injury that'll keep our guy out twice as long. I think the Cubs can continue to play well without Soriano, but I don't know if we can continue to play the way we have. We may need the Cardinals to fade away more than we did before.
  16. If that's what you want to believe then go ahead. But teams don't put in a lot of money into the draft for nothing. And the draft is still a crapshoot. There been great picks early (Arod/Chipper, etc, etc) and great picks late (Piazza). There been plenty of "highly thought of players" draft high, who busted. So just because they were "once highly thought of" doesn't mean anything. With that said, guys like Luis Gonzalez (4th rd/88 draft), Steve Finley (11th rd/86 draft), Edgar Martinez, all developed late in their careers. So as much moaning and groaning we can have over players like Ryan Ludwick having, in essence, a career yr, it could also means he might finally be putting it together. Personally, I'm hoping it's a career yr, and he struggles---like his teammates---without Pujols. Ofcourse it's a crapshoot. But that doesn't change my point that these players were highly thought of, and not just coming out of nowhere. Ludwick was highly thought of, disappeared for 5 or 6 years, and now is very much coming out of nowhere. You don't suddenly have the light click on at 29.
  17. Haha, Derrek Lee got Len's car with a foul ball
  18. I'll put that one on the Reds more than Looper though. They made his life pretty easy. Eff you, Greg Norton.
  19. k thnx idiot Give me a break. People were jumping with joy around here when the Pujols news broke. That's an exaggeration at best. I think the most excited reactions came from those that don't want Cardinals' fans to have an excuse that they didn't win the division, which is hardly jumping for joy. I just think its ridiculous to post something like that when within the past 24 hours there have been plenty of posts about how great it was for Pujols to get hurt. Well, that guy's on my ignore list, so I don't like him either, nor do I think his post was called for - I was just saying most of us weren't really all that happy to hear about Pujols going down.
  20. Derrek called out on a pitch that went DOWN to his bat.
