I can't say anything bad about the big 10 because I just heard a rumor we might be going there. seriously? Just from some boosters with some knowledge about the school...a heck of a lot more than I have. The academic and sports seem to match up well and this might also be a go to heck (from Big 10 people) to ND from what I've heard. Boy, that would teach us, all right.

Whoa, look at all that hair. When was that? Probably 2005, I believe that was Hardy's 1st year in the majors and I don't think Z has had that long of hair in a long time.

I hope and pray Bartman throws out the first pitch on Opening Day 2009 after a World Series win.

If anyone who went to or is a huge fan of any of the following schools - and is interested in writing about them on a Web site (albeit for free) - PM me. I write for a fans-only sportswriting website and my 'boss' asked our current Midwestern writers to find Big Ten writers. (Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Northwestern, Minnesota, Indiana)

Awesome. I hate the Big Ten, but more college football is always a good thing.

To be fair to El Caballo I'm pretty sure we'd all be talking about how the Cubs lost this one if the roles were reversed.

With Z, Dempster and Harden finishing this out, I'm really hopeful for 3 out of 4. If Z can outduel Sheets tomorrow I'll have brooms on the brain. This was a huge win. Big walks drawn by Mike Fontenot (when was the last time he did something negative??) and Reed Johnson (setting up his DP breakup) were really the ABs of the game. Those were also two walks that probably wouldn't have been walks on any other recent Cubs team.

ND teammates thought his face looked like a shark's.

Bob Howry should be DFA'ed after the game. We have Wuertz, Ascanio, Hart, and any number of better options at Iowa. No reason for this clown to be here anymore.
  10. Andy
Bob Howry coming in just to remind us that all is not lost for Milwaukee.

Reed Johnson is the FREAKING man. Walk and the DP breakup. Hell of a job.

Notre Dame will really be insignificant when everyone stops trying to be the first to say that they're insignificant.
  13. Andy
Well, he did lead off the inning.

If only anything in this post was actually true. (Automatic bid in 2005. West Virginia and their non-con of Marshall, E. Washington, E. Carolina and Miss. State were the only other eligible team in 2006. I should sig this.)
  15. Andy
Agreed. We should send down Eyre and throw in the extra cash.

yes, after they make the National Title game with one loss (an ass kicking @USC). Their season will end 4 weeks before anyone else's and a lack of conference title game will help their BCS score I wonder just how hated OSU is. Easily the most hated team on this board. I guess we could conduct a poll :-) Notre Dame is more hated on this board I think CubinNY by himself outdoes any Ohio State hatred on NSBB, haha

Sabathia has stated his first 2 choices are The Dodgers and Angels, both teams that would love to have him, and both teams that could easily afford him. What other FA pitchers are there for Cuban to snatch up? Ben Sheets. I'm good with one injury risk in our rotation, thanks.

God do I hope this was the real Jeff Samardzija and not just fluky Todd Wellemeyer-type work. He's looked awesome so far.
  22. Andy
Jeff Samardzija is absolutely nasty. So wonderful to see. :D Still need to get Marquis the hell out of there, but I'm on a high right now.
  23. Andy
    EDMONDS! SAMARDZIJA! HUGE win! :D
