    To be fair to El Caballo I'm pretty sure we'd all be talking about how the Cubs lost this one if the roles were reversed.

    With Z, Dempster and Harden finishing this out, I'm really hopeful for 3 out of 4. If Z can outduel Sheets tomorrow I'll have brooms on the brain. This was a huge win. Big walks drawn by Mike Fontenot (when was the last time he did something negative??) and Reed Johnson (setting up his DP breakup) were really the ABs of the game. Those were also two walks that probably wouldn't have been walks on any other recent Cubs team.

    Bob Howry should be DFA'ed after the game. We have Wuertz, Ascanio, Hart, and any number of better options at Iowa. No reason for this clown to be here anymore.

    yes, after they make the National Title game with one loss (an ass kicking @USC). Their season will end 4 weeks before anyone else's and a lack of conference title game will help their BCS score I wonder just how hated OSU is. Easily the most hated team on this board. I guess we could conduct a poll :-) Notre Dame is more hated on this board I think CubinNY by himself outdoes any Ohio State hatred on NSBB, haha

    Sabathia has stated his first 2 choices are The Dodgers and Angels, both teams that would love to have him, and both teams that could easily afford him. What other FA pitchers are there for Cuban to snatch up? Ben Sheets. I'm good with one injury risk in our rotation, thanks.

    God do I hope this was the real Jeff Samardzija and not just fluky Todd Wellemeyer-type work. He's looked awesome so far.
