  1. Edmonds hearing a LOT of boos. Some cheers too but I bet a lot of that are Cubs fans.
  2. Lee Double!! (No Play at the end of that sentence!) 1-0!
  3. Put the Cardinals in the http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e67/ndistops/Dumpster.jpg
  4. Good, more of the Ronny Cedeno Experience.
  5. I really doubt he ever did. He's played CF a fair few times this year and didn't say anything.
  6. The thing I'm most worried about is ND's inability to run the ball consistently last week. If they couldn't do it against San Diego State's patchwork d-line, I hesitate to think how they can do it against Michigan. I think they can pass it (I think 4th-quarter Jimmy is a lot closer to what we'll get this year than first-3-quarters Jimmy), but if we can't run it then we won't get in the end zone.
  7. Have they ever played this game when both teams are not ranked or did that happen last year? I want to say it has happened a couple of other times. Last year obviously neither team was ranked because they both came in 0-2. Those calling this the worst ND/UM game must have short memories, because not only were the two teams looking worse entering the game last year than this year, but it wasn't even a close game as Michigan destroyed us 38-0 in the most humiliatingly lopsided loss in recent ND football history. It's the only game I have ever given up on watching before the first half was even over.
  8. This week will represent the 1st of probably just two times I'll get to see Carolina play this season (the other is on MNF). This is barring flex games and featured games, which could happen if they are actually good.
  9. I wasn't even a Cubs fan yet when this happened, but I was rooting for Sammy to win the HR race since he had come out of essentially nowhere. I converted to being a Cubs fan about the turn of the century.
  10. That's not really a prediction now is it? Which one of those things do you think happens? If I have to answer honestly, I think you'll beat us. With Smith I think I would be more optimistic. But I was assuming an 0-2 start, so if you beat us and we don't look horrible, I'll live with it. I think both teams fans are skeptical of their team's performance, because I think the Panthers will win. If you want some ammo for optimism, we've lost 4 home openers in a row, and it'd be 5 if Delhomme hadn't miraculously rallied us back against Jacksonville in 2003 to spark the magic ride that season was.

  12. He got suspended 2 games for punching out Ken Lucas. He didn't play yesterday either. And CubbieBum beat me to it...all the Colts fans are having a party that Brady is out, even after being embarrassed last night. I'm just wondering how they'll screw up winning the AFC this time.
  13. Not used to finding that out before October, eh?
  14. Carolina likes to run the ball, and with Stewart the power back in to complement the speedy Williams, they looked good doing it in week 1. But with Delhomme back, they can pass it too. If Dante Rosario continues to be as good as he was last week, the Panthers might have a decent trio of guys (Moose and Jarrett as well - Jarrett has a nice week 1) to complement Smith once Smith is back. The offense got to the red zone 4 times and gained 282 yards in the 1st half against SD but only scored 9 points. Dumb mistakes kept that game from being an easy win as opposed to a miraculous one. As for this week, the key for Carolina is taking care of the ball. I think the Panther D can hold the Bears' offense and keep the game reasonably close if the offense can manage to avoid turnovers against the opportunistic Bears defense. That means Jake has to replicate his 0-INT week 1 and our backs have to continue holding on to the ball. My prediction is that if Carolina can get a really really big defensive or special teams play, like a touchdown or close to one, and also hold Chicago without one, they'll win. If they can't get one of those plays, the Bears will win. If you guys play as well as you did last night you'll win regardless, but I (optimistically) doubt a team can repeat such a well-played game. Good luck, guys. This one looked like a horrible game 24 hours ago but now is one of the best games of week 2.
  15. Congratulations, fellas. Two surprise 1-0 teams in Charlotte next week. I'm excited. :D
  16. They said during tonight's game that they're calling de-spleened Chris Simms.
  17. HOLY CRAP! Jake Delhomme!!!!!!!!!!!!! Panthers win as time runs out! 25-24! What a huge win!
  18. Chris Gamble!!!! 16-10 Panthers! Love our defense.
  19. 9-7 Panthers after Jarrett drops a touchdown. This is driving me crazy. The defense won't stonewall San Diego forever.
  20. Carolina races to the red zone without a problem and then shoots themselves in the foot a hundred times and has to settle for a field goal. They have thoroughly outplayed the Chargers but for one blown coverage and trail 7-6. Looks like the same old Panthers so far.
  21. Delhomme is 6/11 for 100 yards and DeAngelo has 46 rushing yards through a quarter. No score, but if we actually have an offense this year, that would be very refreshing.
  22. 4th and a foot from a touchdown and Carolina passes. That's why they're the dumbest team in the league.
  23. I had San Diego to beat my team in Survival Football. I hope I'm eliminated. DeAngelo Williams has looked good so far and Delhomme just hit Hackett for a nice gain, so maybe something good will happen.
