  1. Really? If we win 2 playoff games and its game 5, I'm going to be sky high. I bet the crowd is completely different too. The crowd is just waiting to see a sign of life before they can calm down and enjoy this. Is it fair to the players? no. But I understand where the crowd is coming from. I mean that I'll be crazy into it, like I imagine you were. Whether that's a positive or a negative depends on how the game would go.
  2. Geo is always the safer bet. Thank Len that I didn't make it to Wrigley until June this year and was off the Fukuwagon by then. I decided against a shirtsey of him at that point.
  3. He said Daryle. I remember being surprised that he in fact said the name Daryle and not something stupid.
  4. No e-mail for me. I guess I'll just have to wait and see if anything's re-released.
  5. I guess I should also add that I am much more into events I'm attending. If Game 5 ends up happening, I imagine I'll be just as bad in Sec. 301 as anyone.
  6. We are going to win both games in L.A. No one can touch Harden. Lilly is better than three-days-rest Lowe or Greg Maddux. I may be way off base guaranteeing that but I really feel it's true. And if it is we just have to win one home game at the Cesspool of Negative Energy Formerly Known as Wrigley Field. Z is going to come through tonight. I'm not worried. Last night sucked, but I sucked it up, watched, tried to analyze what was going wrong, and digested it overnight.
  7. People need to get over this story. I'm not going Stockton on you, but booing players is stupid enough before the playoffs and even dumber during. I understand the situation, but it just doesn't help. And it'd be nice if we stop cheering Greg Maddux more than our own players, too.
  8. Dick Stockton would be proud.
  9. And they're not playing in a home park that knocks all their homers down. Decent start to the postseason career for Evan Longoria.
  10. I'm confident in Z. Not so sure about the offense. But I'm confident in Z. The last time he pitched on this much rest, he pitched a no-hitter. I'm on the record as saying we'll win both games in LA. So the offense needs to show up tonight. And so do the fans. Last night was embarrassing.
  11. I could give two craps about the White Sox winning or losing most of the time, but I don't want them going anywhere if we don't. All their moronic fans will then assume they had a better team and season than we did.
  12. We are going to win both games in LA. I am absolutely positive of that. To win the series, we have to then win tonight, or in Game 5. Make it be tonight for the sake of my nerves. Go Cubs. Effing win.
  13. The Sox are going with Vazquez, as the thread edit shows.
  14. Who is calling the Rays/White Sox? I want to know because it's like they picked the worst 3 announcers possibe for the other series. Chip Caray, Dick Stockton, and (no offense) Brian Anderson? Give me a break TBS. 75% of the people on this board could do a better job than these morons. Don Orsillo, who is a pretty solid announcer. Len is better than any one of these guys by far though.
  15. If we'd won tonight I would've continued the "pissing off NSBB" tradition with the It's Gonna Happen shirt. As it is, I'm going with the DeRosa shirtsey tomorrow.
  16. We are going to win both games in LA. Whether we win this series comes down to Z or Demp showing up for Games 2 or 5.
  17. And Manny. I'm convinced the Wrigley wind hates us. It does this all the damn time.
  18. Alright, Cubs. http://www.funnycatpix.com/_pics/super_cute_kittens.jpg Their fate is in your hands.
  19. That's the kind of home run that people only hit against us.
  20. This is exactly what could not happen in Game 1.
  21. Always remember: You root for the Cubs. that is not different than being a fan of any other team as far as this season So you don't think there is any added pressure when you play for the Cubs? You don't think the fact that the crowd is booing 5 innings into game 1 of the playoffs after a 97 win season makes anything different? I'm guessing just about any fans in baseball would be booing their team under the same circumstances. Completely disagree. If Mike Lowell strikes out to leadoff an inning of game 1 at Fenway when they're down 2 in the 6th, do they boo? Ok, maybe the Red Sox fans who won a title last year do not. But pick out any of the other 7 playoff teams and I'm betting there's at least scattered boos, especially when your ace loses command for the first time all year and your offense has done very little apart from one swing.

  23. Probably should have gone with Harden. But then I was saying that a while ago. Go figure.
