  1. For those interested and without CBS College Sports on their TVs, CBSCollegeSports.com appears to be streaming tonight's Utah/TCU game.
  2. If Cincy loses that game, I think they're still in at this point considering the lack of competition. Pittsburgh will be much more questionable. It will probably depend on the style points they get the next two weeks against ND/WV and how close the game is against Cincy. There's also the legitimate possibility that Cincy goes to the national championship if they go undefeated. They have a much better OOC resume than Texas and Sagarin has the Big East as a better conference than the Big 12. I would love to believe an unbeaten Cincy would beat out an unbeaten Texas for the title game. Texas has played one ranked team (whose only good win came with Dez Bryant) and a bunch of garbage non-conference games.
  3. They're going to be eligible (unless they gag against MSU), and this season, that might be half the battle.
  4. Well, you're just lashing out at everybody today aren't you? Iowa State is winning. Cheer up.
  5. I think abuck is an Iowa State fan. I could be wrong though. You're not. Seriously though, where does an 8-4 USC go?
  6. Notre Dame clobbering Crappy Opponent I 47-16 at halftime. Ben Hansbrough is pretty good.
  7. The Battle for the Pizza Bowl in West Lafayette is pretty entertaining. 34-30 Purdue, but MSU just blocked a FG and has good field position.
  8. Uh-oh, here's another review that will screw over IU against a BCS-hopeful Big Ten team. ETA: Not this time.
  9. I'm assuming he's a future replacement for Corso when he leaves. That's my only explanation. I don't like him either.
  10. Ball State 1-0 after beating Valpo 88-78. 6 in double figures. Local product and true freshman Jauwan Scaife is a nice young talent though he may want to try to do something besides shoot when he gets the ball.
  11. I doubt it. I think the poll drop would be enough to give TCU the bump. Not that I think South Carolina has any chance.
  12. It drives me nuts that Carolina had a top-5 wideout in his prime (probably the best for a couple of years there) and completely wasted that prime. And now they're doing the same thing with a top-5 RB. Has any other team squandered the prime of two talents like Steve Smith and DeAngelo Williams to the degree the Panthers have?
  13. This has to be a joke post.
  14. I'd rather have the former. Kerr made over $16 million in his career according to Basketball-Reference and parlayed that career into a job I think most of us would love to have (or at least attempt). He did it while playing with the greatest player ever, on one of the greatest teams ever, and yet with no real outside pressure (media, fans). He made a title-winning shot on one of MJ's most famous plays, when MJ told Kerr he was going to him if MJ got doubled in advance. He even had a throwback game in the '03 Finals, hitting a bunch of threes to help SA get a title in his last year. Granted, I'm also factoring in things like "I'd be able to live a relatively normal life because I wouldn't be constantly surrounded by fans" and things like that, but I'd much rather make 16M and win a bunch of titles than make five times that (and really, how much can you spend?) and never win anything, even if it means I'm not as famous.
  15. There are a kajillion (and I'm not sure how much of an exaggeration that is) examples of guys trying to win a ring late in their careers and hanging on with any team they think has a good chance to do it, even if it's as a role player (Malone and Payton are the ones I'm coming up with immediately). And that's not exclusive to basketball. There are probably half a handful of guys in the history of sports who passed up the chance to win a title intentionally so they could be the alpha dog somewhere on a team that wasn't going to win the title. I'm going with Kerr. And you can change the option to Robert Horry or any other role player who won a bunch of titles without ever being one of the best four guys on a team and I'd pick them. Kerr made a title-winning shot. I have to believe I'd give anything to have that experience if I were a pro athlete.
  16. If the Cubs really wanted to dump Fontenot, I'm sure they could get SOMETHING for him, even if it's a nothing prospect.
  17. Sorry Northwestern fans. I was looking forward to ND playing a full-strength Wildcats team. Unfortunate.
  18. I watched the video today and while I wish it hadn't been overturned, I can't really argue with it, either.
  19. UMFan, what you said is why I'm kind of not in favor of college football's current replay system anymore. I've seen so many calls get reviewed and incorrectly overturned that we might as well stick with the coaches deciding when to do a review.
  20. It sure seems like the Bulls have spent the better part of the last half-decade paying for every call MJ got.
  21. BS. Kid yapped off when he had no reason too. Of course Weis knew they didn't make in-game adjustments quickly enough, but the defense is controlled by Brown and Tenuta. If he admitted that they'd been out-schemed, he'd be tacitly approving of Williams' [expletive] comment and throwing his defensive coaches under the bus. Weis should have addressed that comment privately with Williams instead of trashing him to the press, though. BTW, Williams was right. Navy's coach's saying that they basically attacked ND the exact same way they did last year was pretty damning of Tenuta, whose defenses have been awful. The only good defense ND has had since Weis got here was Corwin Brown's in 2007, so naturally he demoted him after one season.
  22. Yep, that's what I meant by that. You're right on the money.
  23. Thomas Davis tore his ACL yesterday. Fantastic.
  24. This. When a talent like this is available, you make it work any way you can (see: Yankees and ARod).
