  1. That might sum up where we are with Hendricks. 460 foot missile into the wind
  2. Ah, the old Kris Bryant "could be available in an emergency" designation that always ends with us having the backup catcher taking a 9th inning AB down 1 while we all wonder what the hell constitutes an emergency
  3. Yeah if he'd let Amaya swing away and then he struck out, or even GIDP'd, Canario hitting would've made sense. If you're trying to maximize your chances of tying it up, that combination feels suboptimal. Amaya has done pretty well vs LHP in his career and, in a small sample, extremely well this year. I would've rather given them both a shot than just Canario.
  4. The only justification I can think of for having Amaya bunt in that spot is to make sure the reasonable worst case scenario is Nico gets a 2 out AB. Maybe put pressure on the guy to not put chase pitches into the dirt. I don't know, I just know I didn't like it in the moment so this isn't second guessing.
  5. Yep, it was absolutely the old "I promised you the whole game off" thing, which I can not horsefeathers stand
  6. Terrific bunt by Amaya but now the dreaded runner on 3rd 1 out situation
  7. That was horrid luck. And now Almonte coming in - feels like everyone in the pen is a roulette wheel
  8. Let's hope this time we stick Luke Little in the game in a dirty inning and a slim lead goes better than the last one
  9. Are we making a ton of outs between 3rd and home this year or am I just picky?
  10. I'm sure you aren't disagreeing but that's a good thing. Neutering those crazy high picks is about the only available mechanism available to stop from embarrassments like what the Astros and Orioles (and Cubs, to be fair) did last decade.
  11. Lonzo will not come back 100%, it is far more likely he never plays another minute in the NBA than he comes back and is remotely productive. The Bulls should've looked at him that way each of the last 2 offseasons and acted accordingly.
  12. I might be able to get used to how terrible these stupid uniforms are if the MLB.TV ads didn't keep popping up with highlights from last year reminding me that they used to look fine
  13. First time watching live this season and the first half reminded me what a colossal disaster trading for Vucevic was. Not that the Bulls have done much to earn good fortune but it's quite a thing that he immediately became a godawful 3 point shooter when he got to Chicago.
  14. Took Wisdom all of one batter to remind us why Madrigal and Morel play third base
  15. I can't wait to force myself to watch snippets of the first round and get nothing out of it except hating the Celtics some more. Nice to see Coby emerging as a real thing though.
  16. They're not winning tomorrow anyway, so whether they win tonight is of little consequence. At this point we might have to just hope the lottery gods step in like with Derrick Rose and maybe this time the player will have functioning knees.
  17. The only thing I can say in CCs defense is that we seem to pretty much have 2 surefire good relievers in Leiter and Alzolay. Everyone else is some degree of not fun (hopefully Keegan can be #3).
