    Obviously the earlier starts to seasons are a factor in this, but the Cubs Twitter account posted last night that the 18 wins broke the team record for wins prior to May 1.

    I texted my friends last night that now that Taillon apparently doesn't suck anymore and Madrigal has graduated from completely useless to still bad but occasionally helpful, Neris is in the pole position to be the Cub I take out all my baseball anxieties on.

    By the letter of the rule it should definitely have been called dead. I recall there being a bit of a stink about that not getting called in the bananas NLDS game 5 when Javy's bat did the same thing.

    This just goes down as one of those absurd BS games that happen, just wish they weren't coinciding with an absurd BS run of injuries

    Most notably, the larger lettering will return, mismatched greys will be fixed, and the uniforms' propensity to collect sweat will be addressed. The bad news is that "at latest" the fixes will be made in time for the 2025 season, so it could still be a while. But it will be fixed. According to the memo, the union is absolving Fanatics for the issues and blaming Nike, which is sort of interesting.

    There was at least one question - JD's about any specific prep being needed to play at Fenway - where it seemed like he was suppressing the urge to roll his eyes

    We're also done with 2/3 of our games against Houston (albeit they may be bad), Texas and LA and haven't played any of the mostly unimposing Central teams yet

    Even when Carolina does something halfway sensible like draft Xavier Legette, they have to do something stupid like trade down 59 picks later in the draft for a guy that was definitely going to be available at 33 to do it.
