  1. I would prefer he does this for the MLB club like right now. He's a Boras client, so he's my sole exception to the usual impatient, want-the-guy-up-now thing. May as well keep him down until late next April and get that extra year.
  2. That was my thought seeing it on replay. He just has ridiculous power.
  3. Anyone care to do a compilation of the best?
  4. I'm assuming this is a joke but his ball wasn't technically in play as it was a foulout. Do foul balls not count on BABIP? Pretty sure they do. Honestly, I have no idea.

  6. The good news is the only number he'd be likely to switch to would be 12 (worn through most of the minors), and it's currently taken. The bad news is it's by John Baker. Personally, I'll probably wait until next April to grab one to make sure he doesn't switch. It's not like I wear a ton of Cubs stuff during the off-season anyway.
  7. Bolded is pretty much the only notable game I've ever been to. I did see Soriano's walk-off slam against Houston, though, which was pretty sweet.
  8. But we would've. Is that an actual rumor that the Cubs liked him? http://www.chicagonow.com/cubs-den/2014/05/a-brief-history-of-the-cubs-and-the-mlb-draft-3-stories-on-how-fate-affected-the-cubs-pick/
  9. I think someone earlier said he can't go to AAA. More likely he goes to the MLB bullpen for now with Villanueva or Parker getting jettisoned. Parker was optioned to make room for Baez. Like Javi, I didn't bother to remember his name.
  10. I think someone earlier said he can't go to AAA. More likely he goes to the MLB bullpen for now with Villanueva or Parker getting jettisoned. Parker is already gone Villanueva it is then. We don't need two long relievers anyway and his contract is up after the season.
  11. Being good will cost us a lot of good players in the future, I hope. I wouldn't trade that season for anything.

  13. The baseball gods are telling us to try to compete next year? 8-)
  14. Which decision are we referring to?
  15. As far as August days in a lost season go, this one's pretty good.
  16. I need new pants. Holy [expletive] Baez
  17. Whenever Welly has a swing like that, it makes me wonder why he doesn't hit more homers.
  18. Nor probably anyone else on the team except Rizzo, Castro and Alcantara. Hell, he probably won't remember the manager.
  19. Example: Every time I see Melvin Mora talking about [hugging] his wife in the mouth, I know it's Bob Sanders God, that's so awesome. I kinda got immune to it and didn't read it for like a year or so. Then, randomly, paid attention one day lately and appreciated it's awesomeness again like it was the first time. Made me want to search for the "Glendon Rusch attempts to strike out cancer" thing. Back on topic. 87 min! Lol I've forgotten pretty much all the Dugout stuff except for "gritsssssss" and a couple of the names. Cancer lining a double off the wall against Rusch was right up there.
  20. Cubs shirseys were 28 both inside and outside Wrigley when I went there this year. Had been 25 for a while.
  21. Get the Javi 9 shirtseys up now.
  22. Jacob Turner isn't getting traded for Gleyber Torres. Especially if we are the team that wins the claim on him and are the only team they can negotiate with... That's not how that works. They've got 7 days to put him thru waivers now. They'd much prefer to trade him prior to being forced to deal with the highest claiming team. I'm pretty sure they don't have a choice there. He has to pass through waivers before Miami has their pick of who to negotiate a trade with, and if anyone claims him that team gets first dibs.
  23. All the words after "Soler" in your post are superfluous.
