    Agreed, we have a billion relievers, let someone who hasn't worked a while pitch one. And it can't be good for Ramirez' efforts to get back into form to sit for basically a week after his first outing. And Arrieta's next scheduled start is against St. Louis. No harm in saving a few bullets for that game.

    Actually, he's been pretty good (or at least tolerable) for a while now. He had a .733 OPS in June after a .789 in May.

    If that game were next week, we have to start Arrieta against Cole....not Lester. Right? Yes...and will be twice as awkward when Hammel starts game 1 against St Louis Everyone is sick of bellyaching about David Ross, but in all seriousness, if we aren't going to start Montero for Lester in the playoffs, we probably should avoid putting Ross in the lineup when possible against RHPs, which means not starting Lester as much. The fact that Lester has been objectively worse than either of Hammel and Arrieta makes that an even easier call.

    The WC game is going to be played at PNC yet again. Might as well just accept it. And they're going to lose it again. Deal with THAT

    Imagine how awesome he's going to be when he figures out how to hit consistently at this level, which I'm assuming he will do since he's 21 years old.

    I'm sure they have games with St. Louis left on the schedule, so I wouldn't worry about that.

    If we can win the non-Roach starts, that'd be excellent and I'd take whatever happens Saturday.

    Yep, exactly. He's said this verbatim on air. As a former aspiring play by play announcer, I would never let this happen. I would be way too worried that I'd miss calling the best moments in a particular game.
