    I was assuming they'd lock it down until the Cubs had the lead and then blow it, but Hodge did well there.

    I have no particular opinion on managerial skill but every complaint we had about Ross (mainly an inexplicable devotion to crappy performing veterans and bad bullpen decisions) has either stagnated or gotten worse under Counsell. I don't blame Counsell for having a terrible bullpen but the Cubs gave him a gazillion dollars in large part because of his supposed wizardry on the matter so that's how he's getting judged.

    I literally dread RISP with 0 out anymore

    I'm not nearly as old as Pat and I'm sure I'd feel different if it was my actual job, but I always thought if I were lucky enough to get one of those jobs I would hate the idea of missing games or innings unless I had to, because I'd want my voice on any call of something crazy happening.

    Definitely overused, the Cubs were going out of their way to be careful with him but it seems anecdotally like he's pitched a fair bit these days.

    Our genius manager continues to put the worst reliever on the team in the closer role just because he's old.
