  1. Lester, just let Ross do it if you can't make an accurate toss. Goodness.
  2. Pass. I need my wife to be a source of support when my team crushes me, or celebrate with me when they succeed. There's no shortage of people out there to ridicule my teams failures, or minimize their successes. I don't need it in my house. This is probably the best thing about being married to someone who doesn't care about sports. Having a reminder right next to you that emotional investment in this stuff is inherently a bit crazy helps to keep things in perspective after a tough loss.
  3. Nothing we haven't already discussed at length in this article, but still good to see it. [tweet] [/tweet]
  4. St. Louis is a bunch of minions of Satan, but who [expletive] cares, we're comfortably ahead in a playoff race in mid August. It's a beautiful thing.
  5. There's no way he thinks up 1 in the 6th constitutes 'in the bag'. It was probably a combination of keeping Hammel healthy and the opportunity to play matchups in a 1 run game.
  6. Well, I guess it worked out. Don't want Richard seeing any more batters though
  7. I don't understand this at all. It's not like Hammel has been laboring.
  8. How is that not a catch? And holy [expletive] Rizzo
  9. 0/10 for Schwarber is like 0 for a week for mere mortals
  10. I'd 100% take the championship in every case, except I might debate it when it comes to the NFL.
  11. It's wildly unlikely, but there's always the chance their ludicrous LOB% swings the other way, someone important gets hurt without an inexplicably studly performance by his replacement for once, etc. etc. I still would like to see them lose rather than worry too much about whether we get home field in the coin flip game.
  12. Even factoring in a playoff crowd, I don't think it's close - STL losses are far more valuable.
  13. 15 over was the best we ever were in the 2003 season.
  14. Does the difference between home and road wild card game really matter much? I'd rather Pittsburgh win
  15. I don't really consider the Mets much of an issue anymore, so I don't look at that series as win-win. Go Mets go.
  16. Brown, Ellington and Jeffery seem like the clear picks out of that group unless you're really bullish on Joique Bell.
  17. Steve Smith announces he will retire following the season. I already miss the guy.
  18. 4 game sweep of Milwaukee was probably just a shade better, since it was for the division. But it's close, and if someone wants to say this is better because it's the first big move by this particular group and it's been so long, I have no argument.
  19. Someone has to lose this week and we'll be there to take advantage.
  20. Wind actually died, so it didn't knock it down. Len had just mentioned it and I was preparing myself for a basket shot
