I'm a pretty upper-tier baseball fan and I literally had never heard of at least 3 guys in Miami's starting lineup. Nor the guy they warmed up in the bullpen (Jarlin something).

It would've been a lot more interesting of an idea if we were in the dark days of local CBS airing just 1 game at a time.

Kansas over Carolina in the title game, Purdue and UVA in the Final Four, Loyola in the Sweet 16, Syracuse, St. Bonaventure, South Dakota State and New Mexico State each to win once. I didn't watch much this year, so a lot of my picks are just based on what I don't want to have happen since that's what most of this season has been, and the rest is mostly chalk.

Correct, plus the Bills are systematically moving up in the draft to try to get one. I saw a couple of reporters say they like Josh Allen.

Heh, I had the complete opposite experience. Jake's kickass game against the White Sox in 15 stopped a lengthy losing streak for me at games. -
Save some of your anger for stupid Davidson too That's annoying for sure but I was on record even before all of this that I was fine with the NIT as long as horsefeathering Syracuse didn't get yet another horsefeathering gift bid.

You can only feel so bad for a guy being paid what will probably be in the 70M neighborhood, but I was hoping Jake would get more. -

Stolen from GRB: The Cubs probably won't be involved in more than a couple of these, though, and it's not like you have to pay for them, so I guess it's fine.

MLB Network would be producing the games, I saw, so I'm not convinced they'll be available locally. Losing a Len and JD game would suck.

It's really depressing that Bonzie Colson is gonna end his career in the NIT because as luck would have it the last chance ND had to get an at large bid ended up being "go beat the #1 team in the nation on their home court"

Objectivity. My wife, to use one example, would absolutely rate Rizzo #1 on this list because she thinks he's adorable regardless of actual butt impressiveness. Kelly is presumably free of such distractions.

Yeah Delaney had offers to hold the tourney next week at Barclays and Prudential in Newark but he wanted the allure of playing at MSG. I have no problem having the tournament in DC or NY or wherever but having the tourney a week early caused logistical issues during conference play and like you said takes us out of the spotlight of being the lead in to the selection show. Though maybe that’s for the better with how horsefeathers most of the Big Ten has been this year. Delany most certainly did not have offers to hold the tournament at Barclays, because they're hosting the ACC tournament and are contracted to host the A-10 for at least the next 3 years. If he wanted NYC, this was his only play. Going to Prudential is probably the only thing that would've been dumber than what he did. Of course, Delany's entire NYC gambit is a complete joke, and the fact that the B1G tournament is ever anywhere other than Chicago and Indy is dumb.

I don't think interest has waned. The Cubs now charge enough money that the difference between buying tickets today and getting them on StubHub a week out isn't very much, so naturally people are less desperate to get them when they first go on sale. That being said, I did get tickets to the two games that comprise my friends and my annual trip to Wrigley, because they're against Washington and I doubt they'll be any cheaper then than they were today.
