  1. Yeah but neither have the Cubs Funnily enough, the SI I received the day we got Quintana suggested we trade for Bumgarner.
  2. Quintana is going to throw perfect games every time out as a Cub, I can get down with that
  3. It's my kinda team, Charlie, it's my kinda team
  4. Bumgarner's is really good ($12M in each of next 2 seasons), but, yes. Without looking it up I'm guessing Rizzo's is the biggest steal among such contracts in baseball. You guys ever hear of Chris Sale? Sale was traded and I just decided to completely forget that it didn't mean his contract was reset
  5. Think I saw somewhere on twitter that he's in line to start Sunday. I'm rooting for this just because I'll be at next Saturday and Sunday's games and this would line him up to start one of them.
  6. Bumgarner's is really good ($12M in each of next 2 seasons), but, yes. Without looking it up I'm guessing Rizzo's is the biggest steal among such contracts in baseball.
  7. It's 3.5 years, not 2.5. I think this move is just as much about 2018-20 as it is about 2017 (I promise I wrote that before I saw Len tweeted the exact same thing), but the beauty of it is it makes us a hell of a lot better in 2017, too. I'll be even more excited if this comes with a Lackey DFA.
  8. This kind of move is exactly why we stockpiled so many assets during the tank years. I really like it. Hate to lose Eloy, but penciling in a pretty good arm into the rotation through '20 at low cost is completely worth it.
  9. Been some kind of first half, fellas
  10. Blame Masnke In all seriousness, he was pretty much perfectly fine from 2012-15, with a little blip in '14. Whatever we did to try to unlock more power in spring of '16 seemed to really horsefeathers him up and he's never recovered.
  11. This is horsefeathering absurd
  12. I can't think of a worse person to try to make the discrimination case. Hernandez would've been out on his ass years ago if umpiring were any kind of meritocracy.
  13. This should be the title of the thread.
  14. Just a week until I can change my WC and really start unleashing on you fools
  15. That second dong was really impressive by Happ. Crazy that he's on pace for 20+
  16. He said singles, not 4-3s
  17. I don't think so. He actually pulled off a slick Javy-slide and would've been called safe on replay had he been able to hold the bag.
  18. Whoever it was that said Miggy should've known not to piss off Theo was right on the money.
  19. It's not completely irrelevant at all. Jake wasn't helping Montero last night specifically, but Montero spoke as if there was some completely incorrect narrative that he can't throw anyone out. He can't throw anyone out. He literally hasn't.
