  1. It is really annoying that locked in Edwards just popped right back after handing over a run. But I guess we'd have to score for anything to matter.
  2. Oh good we're going to the bullpen, that always works
  3. I'm pretty sure we shot our luck load about 6 times over in the 5th inning of Game 5.
  4. How the horsefeathering hell did that get through. Good lord this series sucks
  5. Happ should be in the game. This offense has nothing right now.
  6. Boy, I really can't overstate how much I dislike that idea.
  7. It's the manager's job to give his team the best chance to win. It'd have been nice if John Lackey could've retired the Dodgers' best hitter right now, but he shouldn't have been in a position where he needed to.
  8. This isn't horsefeathering June. It's October. Wade didn't pitch on Friday, he didn't pitch Saturday and he's not going to pitch on Monday. Nobody is saying to run him out there for 50 pitches again. But it's the top of the order with the game on the line. You don't go down with your 8th best pitcher. You leave Duensing in and hope to steal one against 7-8-9? Sure. But when the inning got dirty, you bring in your best pitcher. He should have been brought in for Taylor. I understand the points. But you can't blame Maddon for Lackey's horrific pitch sequence vs. the guy in front of Turner. Those pitches weren't even close. And unlike our hitters, their hitters don't swing at garbage in the dirt as often. Lackey is the one that horsefeathers up here. No Maddon. And the fact is, we don't have a single reliever outside of the spent Wade Davis who is even remotely reliable in terms of pitching in the strike zone. And he was spent. What happens if Lackey gets out of the inning. Then what. As far as Joe knows, the Cubs could go 3-4-5 innings before getting a run. At least Lackey has a shot to settle down and pitch a few more innings. You bring Davis in that situation and you're in a situation where you have to use another pitcher anyways in all likelihood. Best case scenario, its another multiple inning outing for him. Joe gets second guessed for his decision making. If you are second guessing him for anything, then how about getting his players prepared not to suck ass in the playoffs. The players are simply not performing on the field. Lackey just pitched 1 2/3 innings Saturday. Again, what universe are you living in that leads you to believe he could've then gone "a few more innings" the very next day, when, and I can't point this out enough, he had never done this before in his entire career?
  9. Yeah that was pretty bad too, especially considering he took him out the next half inning anyway. And we didn't even need power. LaStella there would've been defensible because if he happens to whip one down the line it could very well be a run. We just needed someone to have a prayer of getting a hit, which Almora didn't. It's not worse than not pitching Wade, but it's not much better.
  10. I'm more angry about this game than any single playoff game last year. That 9th was a managing apocalypse. The Red Sox would have probably fired Joe 3 times over for it by now. nothing will top chapman pitching in game 6 and then seeing the obvious result of it in game 7. still can't believe how lucky we got. That was bad, but tonight was just without any possible defense by anyone with half a brain. Also we won both games so that kept me from getting this angry.

  12. Do you see the problem here? Here’s the thing. Wades arm is about to fall off. And they haven’t hit worth horsefeathers for the entire playoffs. Roll the dice with lackey who’s been ok lately. Lackey has never in his entire major league career pitched in consecutive days. What pills are you taking to think THIS was the horsefeathering day to break that streak?
  13. That was a horsefeathering joke of managing by Joe. Almora hits instead of Schwarber and Happ and gets subbed out anyway, and you go to Lackey on back to back days for the first time in his entire horsefeathering career instead of using Davis. That trumps anything he pulled last year.
  14. Putting this massive game on the guy we went out of our way to not start yesterday, after he pitched 2+ yesterday. Awesome.
  15. I have to conclude that Schwarber and Happ are dead since Joe let Almora hit there. RIP
  16. Only way we're winning is if Danny Glover pinch hits Adrien Brody for the ole Angels in the Outfield swinging bunt play
  17. I could be wrong, but I don't think we will win this series if no one ever reaches against their bullpen.
  18. I'm really not sure why we wasted that leadoff AB on Almora.
  19. Brandon Morrow just had to turn into Bob Gibson out of the pen.
  20. Russell snapped us out of it last year in LA. Hope history is repeating itself.
  21. Hill is throwing first pitch fastballs down the pipe to everyone and no one is biting.
  22. It's even stupider when you didn't lose the ball. That was one of the most hilariously bad calls in NFL history.
