  1. Big time pitching from Assad there, need more runs now
  2. Chafin has gone full Wilford Brimley. He should punctuate that K by talking to the camera about diabetes
  3. It helps when everyone has a lefty ready to roll every single time he comes up
  4. Serious question, who is beating Matt Shaw for the 3B Gold Glove? He's unreal over there
  5. That was a great catch and reminds me why I kinda like that we play in a park where only the wind can steal home runs
  6. I meant the B1G as a league could, but yeah, individual teams probably can't. It seems like the whole league is unified in thinking the SEC's cupcake week is some kind of crazy devious hack, though, so you'd think it wouldn't be a tough sell.
  7. Then you (PSU in this example) have the freedom to move your Villanova game to November if it's such an advantage. No one is stopping you. Personally, as a TV consumer, I'd rather teams play fun early games, then one clunker game later in the season when other conferences are providing options I can safely ignore them to watch, rather than having virtually nothing of significance to watch for an entire month as is the case with much of the B1G.
  8. Oh look, we found it! This is a public memo that there is no qualitative difference between playing crappy FCS teams in November or September, and if it's such an advantage, the beautiful thing about it is there's absolutely no rule against it so your team can do it too.
  9. I don't know what the next scheduling topic fans will obsessively complain about will be, but I'm confident they'll find one.
  10. As I saw mentioned elsewhere, people who choose this option also help goose the Ricketts' accounts ahead of the planned lockout. I imagine for that reason they won't be the only owners offering some sort of multi-year renewal incentive if they think they can pull it off.
  11. The TLDR is that MLBTV is probably going to get folded into the ESPN app. You'll have to have the expensive unlimited service to get it and the MLBTV part will cost on top of it.
  12. Aaaand now we see why the Ricketts wanted the All-Star Game.
  13. Yes, the report is that Tucker was told in June about this
  14. He did play really well in June, but the second the slugging stopped happening, which was way before now, something should have been done with an eye on the playoffs. Doubt he'll heal at this point, even if he actually did sit out long enough for it (which he probably would argue against anyway)
  15. I'm not letting myself buy a comeback yet, but at minimum I like the idea of playing the role of 2015 Cubs in a playoff series to the Brewers' version of that St. Louis team that might have peaked too early
  16. Doesn't seem like he can trust any one pitch right now, which isn't good
  17. Another big W for the Cubs' medical staff.
  18. So Matt Shaw seemingly overnight turned into one of the best two-way players in the game? That'll work.
  19. The ESPN/MLBTV thing is concerning. The MLBTV app is easily the streaming app I've had the least problems with, and while the ESPN app is fine, it's not as good. And of course the price increases are likely coming. I wonder if this is the end of the MLBPAA discount.
  20. They kept them in 2021. I remember a game I was supposed to go to got rained out and rescheduled as part of a 7-inning doubleheader and my friend and I shared our mutual hatred of them
  21. That's still not happening but I like the idea of potentially being in Brewer fans' heads as a potential NLDS matchup (presuming the Cubs end up in the 4/5).
  22. Turner is good against LHPs, Caissie is not. I want to see Caissie too, but this is still a results game.
  23. Huge hit by Nico and a really stupid challenge by Pat Murphy. This isn't even close, really.
