  1. The AP announced a couple days ago that the B1G will be eligible for the AP poll again next Sunday now that they have a schedule. So things will change pretty significantly. Top 25 games ------------------------------ (2) Alabama at Missouri (7 pm, ESPN) Kansas State at (3) Oklahoma (12 pm, FOX) (4) Georgia at Arkansas (4 pm, SEC Network) (5) Florida at Ole Miss (12 pm, ESPN) Mississippi State at (6) LSU (3:30 pm, CBS) (8) Texas at Texas Tech (3:30 pm, FOX) (23) Kentucky at (8) Auburn (12 pm, SEC Network) Vanderbilt at (10) Texas A&M (7:30 pm, SEC Network - Alternate) Florida State at (12) Miami (7:30 pm, ABC) (13) UCF at East Carolina (12 pm, ABC) (22) Army at (14) Cincinnati (3:30 pm, ESPN) West Virginia at (15) Oklahoma State (3:30 pm, ABC) (16) Tennessee at South Carolina (7:30 pm, SEC Network) Troy at (18) BYU (10:15 pm, ESPN) Georgia Southern at (19) UL Lafayette (12 pm, ESPN2) NC State at (20) Virginia Tech (8 pm, ACC Network) (24) Louisville at (21) Pittsburgh (12 pm, ACC Network) Other nationally available games --------------------------------------------------- UAB at South Alabama (7:30 pm Thursday, ESPN) Middle Tennessee at UTSA (8 pm Friday, CBSSN) Georgia Tech at Syracuse (12 pm, FSN) Florida International at Liberty (1 pm, ESPNU) Iowa State at TCU (1:30 pm, FS1) UTEP at UL Monroe (3:30 pm, ESPN2) Duke at Virginia (4 pm, ACC Network) Texas State at Boston College (6 pm, FSN) Houston Baptist at Louisiana Tech (7 pm, ESPN3) Tulane at Southern Miss (7 pm, Stadium) Kansas at Baylor (7:30 pm, ESPNU)
  2. Both Happ and Ross just said he's fine and didn't go into why he was pulled. Double-secret suspension?
  3. Wait, you have Lamar and Kyler? (I'm assuming this is a 2-QB league.) That's pretty ridiculous. I got Kyler at $12 in a keeper auction league when I traded AJ Green, Will Fuller and Sterling Shepard for him - my team was 0-3 and I had the lowest point total in the league so I tore it down. I ended up almost making the playoffs that year and kept Kyler, and I'm going to have a lot of fun with that decision.

    NFL Week 2

Kyler Murray needs to continue being awesome because having him as my fantasy QB is the only salve for what is going to be a really really long Carolina season. #TankForTrevor
  5. Baylor vs Houston, a matchup that was announced last Saturday, was postponed. No one tested positive yet, but several members of one position group at Baylor were exposed to someone who did. Houston has now had 4 different games postponed and hasn't played yet, and none of them were their fault. Rice postponed because they got COVID, Washington State was wiped out by the Pac-12, Memphis postponed because of COVID, and now Baylor. From a TV perspective, Fox gave NBC the U.S. Open this year because it was moved to the fall, which is why (along with NBCSN's hockey coverage) Notre Dame is playing on USA, the network's first college football game since 1986. And now despite all of that, Fox has no football game this Saturday.
  6. It made me feel a tiny bit better knowing there were some among the players who didn't approve the plan. And I do remember it being on the table that they would approve a playoff expansion in '21, too, and that didn't happen. I just don't want them to horsefeathers it up.
  7. North Carolina vs Charlotte canceled. Charlotte had one positive case and contact tracing resulted in needing to quarantine basically their entire offensive line.
  8. If the rapid testing is real and works, it shouldn't be a big issue. Hopefully. I saw a report that Pac-12 presidents are meeting on Friday. I'm sure they'll try their best to hustle back too, but it might be tougher sledding on the West Coast with the more stringent restrictions in place.
  9. Of course this is about depressing salaries. Why would it be about anything else? Now no owner will have to bother trying to make their team better than 85 wins. There's no reason to. Bigger playoff checks, no reason to spend in free agency - it's the owners' dream. This whole thing is horsefeathering [expletive] and should be blocked at every turn by the PA, but it won't be.
  10. Like all other owners, if MLB has assurances from Cohen that he wants to make buckets of money off the team more than he wants to win (i.e. he won't go crazy into the luxury tax), he'll be approved, and if not, he won't.
  11. The bracket says which series will be where. Since we're not going to be the 1 seed, we'd be in Houston for the LDS if we're still playing.
  12. Nebraska continues to shine throughout this whole mess.
  13. That is Oct. 3. I had to double check that because 2020.
  14. This is where things get really weird, because the AP poll has removed teams whose conferences announced a postponement to spring. But the B1G appears well on course to resume play in mid October according to several reports. Should be super fun to see how the poll handles just dropping a whole league back in at that point. Top 25 games ------------------------------ The Citadel at (1) Clemson (4 pm, ACC Network) South Florida at (7) Notre Dame (2:30 pm, USA) Tulsa at (11) Oklahoma State (12 pm, ESPN) Austin Peay at (13) Cincinnati (12 pm, ESPN+) (14) UCF at Georgia Tech (3:30 pm, ABC) (17) Miami at (18) Louisville (7:30 pm, ABC) (19) UL Lafayette at Georgia State (12 pm, ESPN2) (24) Appalachian State at Marshall (3:30 pm, CBS) Syracuse at (25) Pittsburgh (12 pm, ACC Network) Other nationally available games --------------------------------------------------- Campbell at Coastal Carolina (7:30 pm Friday, ESPN) Navy at Tulane (12 pm, ABC) Boston College at Duke (12 pm, FSN) Liberty at Western Kentucky (12 pm, ESPNU) Troy at Middle Tennessee (3:30 pm, ESPN) Stephen F. Austin at UTSA (3:30 pm, ESPN2) SMU at North Texas (6 pm, CBSSN) Louisiana Tech at Southern Miss (7:30 pm, ESPN2) Texas State at UL Monroe (7:30 pm, ESPNU) Wake Forest at NC State (8 pm, ACC Network) Abilene Christian at UTEP (9 pm, ESPN3)
  15. I've spent the last 8 months slobbering all over the Matt Rhule hire and he gives the ball to Alex Armah on 4th and inches with the game on the line. WTF. This year doesn't really matter because the team sucks, and from that perspective there was a decent amount to like, but man, letting it get away like that is a bummer
  16. The ump called 2 or 3 strikes as balls for Mills in the 9th. I mean I'm not asking for a vintage Maddux zone but why the hell are you squeezing a dude with a no hitter going in a 12 run game? Pretty amazing thing for Mills. I wouldn't have had him in the top 5 starting pitchers likely to toss a no-no this year, good for him.
  17. Also saw tonight was the first time Hader had ever given up 2 homers in a 9th inning. This win doesn't make any sense, but it's awesome.
  18. Major rumblings from CFB reporters that the B1G is moving in the direction of restarting fall sports. Could start games by October 17.
  19. I wonder if Taylor McGregor thinks this memorabilia nonsense is as big a waste of time as I do. Maybe I'm projecting but she even is acting like she thinks it's stupid.
  20. Bote took 5 balls in that at bat (thanks, blue) but it would've been super cool if he'd taken that 6th one.
  21. Virginia vs Virginia Tech (next week) postponed because Tech can't stop getting COVID
  22. Orlando Arcia back on his BS again
  23. Good lord, Bryant is just horsefeathering useless right now
  24. Ross claims to just be giving him a mental break.
  25. If we are gonna throw out this weird year as not being the norm moving forward for him, his ~150 wRC+ vs lefties and ~110 vs RHP career still plays with the DH around. Sure not super valuable, but it certainly helps. Especially over 162 games next year if you assume he’s going to be closer to his career norms. Is it safe to think there will be 162 games next year? There's not a ton of reason to think there shouldn't be, because COVID isn't catching anyone off guard this time and in theory things should be better with treatments, etc. by March. But if we're not in a place to have full stadiums (and it's very unlikely we do) I could see the owners just tanking it again and forcing through another shortened season.
