  1. I saw 2-3 national games on ESPN on the schedule. None on TNT if I remember correctly. Aren't national games predefined before the season? I don't think you can flex the Bulls in like NBC does late in the season on SNF. I think there is a bit of flexibility (I seem to recall the Bulls having a game flexed out of ESPN last season) but not that much and it certainly wouldn't be happening this early in the season.

Yep, he can go away forever. Amazing how people who have the start of a wonderful life in front of them can make such unbelievably destructive choices.

Rodgers apparently said he was "immunized" in August. He didn't say he was vaccinated. Clever wordplay. Also, this
  4. I'm not sure. I didn't watch the show, but based on the quotes from the committee chair, it sounded like Bama at #2 was an easy call for them. If they think their resume is so good now, then why would they change their mind after they lose to #1 unless that game is a bloodbath (and it won't be)? I'm probably overreacting, it's just annoying that they already have so much margin for error and on top of that their losses are basically ignored.
  5. Death, taxes and the selection committee shoving a mediocre team Alabama beat into the top 25 so they can move Alabama higher in their own rankings. By the committee's own freaking rankings, Cincinnati owns the second-best road win of the season to date and they've all but announced with this data set that they absolutely will not make the playoff.

  7. I burst out laughing about halfway through this run
  8. Once again from the 'things were just going too well' file
  9. I have both Kyler Murray and the Arizona D in fantasy (took a calculated risk starting the latter because their next 2 matchups are tasty), so that was a rough night.
  10. Yes, he's technically correct, he's also not only supposedly in charge of reversing that trend but has actively spoken out about needing to market the game better.
  11. From the "things were just going too well" file Can't imagine this won't affect his production.
  12. "We don't market our game on a nationwide basis" goes right in there with "a piece of metal". This guy is a horsefeathering clueless dickweasel.
  13. Sure you can play for a higher profile exhibition (AKA bowl) game and play for the development of your players etc but unless Clifford is really messed up, I think a win over Ohio State is probably the best thing you can still accomplish this season so I'd play him. PSU's only chance at playing in a major bowl is beating Ohio State, so might as well take your best shot.
  14. I have yet to watch Clemson this year so I know nothing. This is certainly not just bad QB play, is it? Yeah, something else must stink over there because even with a bad QB you'd expect a HELL of a lot more from a team that for the last 4 years had recruiting classes ranked 8th, 9th, 2nd, and 7th. I've said it before but their offensive lines have never been that good by CFB Death Machine standards. Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence could paper over it, but that doesn't work out every time. You're right though that there's got to be more to it than that.

    NFL Week 7

None of this matters because Tom Brady is either a robot or is eating HGH-fortified babies and he'll win the next 5 Super Bowls

  17. I've seen his name come up a few times. I don't see it as a fit for either side. Kelly does not have a reputation for being a tireless recruiter; it's practically a running joke in some quarters, fair or unfair, when Kelly is brought up as being a factor in bringing in a recruit because some fans think it's ridiculous that he's not more involved. (Worth noting that new DC Marcus Freeman, who coincidentally chose ND over LSU, almost immediately started targeting and getting ND in the door with guys of a caliber they weren't close to getting before.) Don't see how you can win in the SEC without living and breathing recruiting. On Kelly's side, he's worked with the same president and AD his entire time at ND and is in a very stable position. Not sure leaving for an athletic department that from the outside appears to be a giant mess, for a school that just fired someone barely 18 months after winning the national title, is an enticing sell, no matter their natural advantages.
  18. Group of 5 realignment news:
  19. Those jobs probably aren't significantly better than PSU, especially when you consider what an incoherent mess the programs have been for a while (LSU's all-time 'lightning in a bottle' title notwithstanding). But Franklin's name keeps getting floated, I assume, because Franklin wants his name floated.
  20. I've also been a bit surprised at this. Even if the Bulls as currently constructed aren't a true championship contender, what they were doing for the last 5 years clearly wasn't coming close to working either. Anyway I'm looking forward to actually sort of caring about them again.
  21. So this dude is gonna lose millions of dollars and abandon all the kids he recruited to play for him over a vaccine. What a halfwit. Reporting is that he didn't even say goodbye to his players, which makes perfect sense since he'd have been vaccinated months ago if he remotely gave a horsefeathers about any of them
  22. They already cut a bunch of teams, I'm not sure how much more they could realistically chop. (Not that they might not try.)
  23. That's what they should do - and they also should've done it last week instead of going to Georgia for the 2nd time in 3 episodes - but they're going to Oregon/UCLA.
  24. I really wish this was Halloween weekend instead of it falling on the jam-packed slate of games the week after
