  1. Wow, bravo Dusty, at least he knows that much.
  2. Sure, but the Cubs had Hairston on the team for about 1 1/3 seasons, a significant amount of time.
  3. I just joined a 4th fantasy football league, Roast's keeper league.
  4. We've done this before, it won't work. It's like having a specific Bynum thread and trying to maintain a "crappy Cubs players" thread. Inevitably, ND topics are going to find their way into the regular threads.
  5. I'm in, guys, I'll be there for the draft too.
  6. Considering our performance of late against your Bucs, they need all the motivation they can get! In all seriousness, unless Chris Simms improves a LOT from last year, there's probably not a team in that division that can really stop Carolina from winning it.
  7. I also think this. Particularly, I think the secondary is going to be much much better than anyone's going to give them credit for due to last year's Fiesta Bowl debacle.
  8. Surprised that only Salisbury and Schlereth picked Carolina to win it all. And Sean's been a Panthers honk for the last three years so he barely even counts. Not that I'm complaining.
  9. Iowa State wins 45-43 in triple OT when Toledo can't convert their two-pointer. Wow.
  10. If we're going to trade backup 1B who we don't want, why not completely and utterly worthless John Mabry instead of actually somewhat productive Phil Nevin?
  11. Wow, he just got there like a week and a half ago. Amazing.
  12. Now 14-14 at halftime. Toledo and Iowa State in triple OT, 37-37! BSU ended up winning 38-20. Nate Davis is officially a freshman phenom, going 7/8 with 108 yards and 3 scores. It must be really hard for Hoke not to play him exclusively over Lynch. Joey's good, but Davis is an amazing talent at this level.
  13. HOLY HELL, NATE DAVIS. The freshman QB, on his first series, gets a pass back from Dante Love, throws a perfect 55 YARD strike to Louis Johnson to put BSU up 14-10. :D
  14. It is 10-7 EMU now, and Ball State is having some real problems stopping Tyler Jones of EMU (no sign of the 2nd QB in the tandem and with good reason).
  15. The season is now officially underway, BTW. BC leads Cent. Michigan 3-0 in the 1st quarter. BSU in an hour (I have to run audio board for the first half so I'm stuck in the studio).
  16. SEC games are the best to watch, though I love most all the college football games. If the SEC and Big Ten didnt play at the same time id watch more SEC games. I cant stand to watch the pac 10 on saturday night. The SEC saturday night games are usually pretty damn good so ill catch a couple of those games. Its about time the Big Ten adopted some saturday night football this year. I am looking forward to seeing what the Big House looks like after the renovation. Its about time they updated it. There's nothing like a primetime SEC matchup on a Saturday night, Florida/Tennessee, LSU/Auburn, etc. Nothing better. :D Lets not forget SC/GA next Saturday. Back to back national TV appearances to open the season sounds good to me. Can't disagree with that. Almost any game in the SEC is better than watching the Pac 10, Big East, or even the Big 12, for that matter. Big 10 then SEC. I would put those 2 above any other conference, in that order. Are you drunk? ;) Its the SEC and then everyone else, though this year the Big Ten is a solid second. I have to say I agree, although I typically enjoy Big Ten games more just because I live in the Midwest.
  17. I'm in as The Del-Homies.
  18. I'm in College as The Weis Ones, and I'm in Pro as I Won't Get Keyshawned.
  19. That was seriously one of the worst days of my young (8 years old) life at the time. I was completely confused as to how they could lose to Northwestern. Of course, it was much easier to figure out at the end of the year. BSU opening up tonight, should be an easy one, I am intrigued to see how much Nate Davis plays and how he performs. I thought about putting some money on BSU -4. Do you think they will cover? And I erased that NU game from my memory. I'd be shocked if they don't win by at least 10. EMU has suspended a couple of starters for tonight's game and they're breaking in a new two-QB tandem to replace Matt Bohnet. Meanwhile, BSU has as much returning offensive talent as anyone in the MAC, save Northern Illinois.

  21. One the other jv football coaches and the jv baseball coach was Paul Maneri. Paul Maneri is the current head baseball coach at Notre Dame. I knew that Maineri was a close friend of Hendry's (probably part of the reason Johnson and Shark are in our system now) but I didn't know where that came from, thanks for mentioning. Maineri left ND this summer for the job at his alma mater, LSU. Is Shark a nickname for Samardzija? Samardzija's agent, Mark Rodgers, was another of our jv football coaches. yes Origin: His face looks kind of like a shark's. Pretty simple. (And it kind of does if you look at it enough)
  22. Where do they have the Bears? Is it Dr Z picking? My assumption is that it is Dr. Z, doesn't say so on the page though. It has the Bears winning 11 games and the division before bowing out to Carolina in the 2nd round (they have them as the 3 seed and Carolina as the 2). The most humorous part to the picks was them picking Indy as the best AFC team and then picking them to lose the AFC title game at home to Miami. :D All four NFC East teams are projected to finish 9-7, with Washington winning the division and Dallas and the Giants making the playoffs as wildcards. Also, I was surprised to see Cincy left out of the playoffs in favor of Baltimore.
  23. Neyer is a very smart man. Very smart. But no stat in the world can tell me that replacing Derrek Lee's production with Neifi Perez's (pre-Walker trade) and Mabry/Nevin (post-Walker trade) results in 3-5 game difference, tops. It just can't. the stat is telling you - you just aren't listening. I like stats most of the time (actually a great majority of the time), but "lies, damned lies and statistics" comes to mind on this one.
  24. I was just about to post exactly what Adam did. Note also that Jeff Samardzija caught I think seven passes in his career before Ty was fired. Then he caught seven in the bowl game and the rest was history. Ty also did not bring Darius Walker to Provo for the BYU opener that year that Notre Dame lost. Forced to insert him into the Michigan game because no one else was doing anything, Walker ran for 100 yards in about a quarter and a half. The man is a terrible judge of talent, and even if he brings in good recruits, he will likely bury them on the depth chart in favor of unproductive seniors. (Does that sound familiar?)
  25. SI has picked Carolina again, the NFL Preview arrived today.
